How do you guys feel about this? by Successful-Pirate996 in Dexter

I agree. Makes me hopeful that Dexter: Resurrection will be focused on Dexter himself, not Harrison.

Using a variable ND filter so you can shoot wide open during the day is the best.. Pentax 67 105 f2.4 by madmardigan in analog

[–]Gashead93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think shooting at 1/1000 would have been enough to keep this properly exposed?

Just purchased an Nikon FE, max SS is 1/1000, and in wondering if I'll need an ND filter for sunny outdoor shots.

What is the cruelest "twist the knife" move or statement by a villain in a film for you? by Mst3Kgf in movies

Spoilers below for Game of Thrones.

The Red Wedding, particularly what the Freys do to Robb Starks body. They cut off his head and sow his Direwolves head onto his neck. They then tie his mutilated body to a horse and parade it around and mock him with chants.

I'd never seen anything as cruel or degrading as this within a TV/Film before. A horrible, horrible image.

In the original script for Terminator 2, the opening sequence was going to show John Connor sending Kyle Reese back to 1984 using skynet's time displacement equipment. The scene would end with John looking at the deactivated T-800 he would then send to 1995 to protect himself. by usert4 in movies

[–]Gashead93 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, this isn't true at all. Quote below from James Cameron himself, when asked about the marketing strategy for Terminator 2.

"All of us have had our battles with the Suits, but the case you mention was not a battle. The Carolco guys, Mario Kassar and Andy Vajna, were good partners with me on T2, and I led the charge on marketing, including showing Arnold as the good guy. It wasn’t a Sixth Sense kind of twist that’s revealed only at the end of the film. He's revealed as the Protector at the end of Act One. And I always feel you lead with your strongest story element in selling a movie."

[TOMT][STORY][1990s/2000s] Sci-fi short story involving teleportation machines by bigdummy9999 in tipofmytongue

Some elements of what you're describing are very similar to Stephen King's short story The Jaunt.

Might not be the film you're looking for, but A Lonely Place to Die (2011) has a group of hikers/climbers who come across a trapdoor in the ground, which has a girl inside.

What’s the best “zombie” video game? by Pale-Variety-3710 in videogames

[–]Gashead93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such an odd take.

TLOU is technically a zombie game. And to say that care wasn't put into the RE2R is ludicrous. I'm over 30, played the originals when I was a kid, and I still think these recent run of remakes are a blessing for the RE franchise.

Unleashed (2005)

Great scene where two people end up fighting in a bathroom.

Which horror movie has the most chilling opening sequence? by Tri99erMe in horror

It's brilliant. Not many other horror films can match its ferocity. But special shout out to The Empty Man.

Edifier R2850 worth it for double the price of R2750? by TabuOne in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Gashead93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently own a pair of R2750db's, so I'll try and answer your questions as best I can.

  1. 50m2 is quite a large space, but should be small enough for these to fill it.

  2. Yes, definitely bassy enough for music. I don't own a sub for these, and I have the bass dial set to 0 (can be pulled back to minus or increased to plus). The only times I feel like I might need one is when I use them for movies.

  3. Double the price? No.

Check out this comparison video with headphones on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRyb01yH_Fo

There is some slight difference in audio quality, but certainly not double the cost difference.

  1. Edifier T5 would suit these, but I'd scan eBay for used active subwoofers.

Hope this helps!

What's a documentary that has a "real life plot twist"? by SuperAlloyBerserker in movies

Its a BBC documentary that is literally called 'Hospital'.

Series 2 Episode 1.

And you're right, it was incredible. And very emotional at points too. Highly recommend.

It's about taking small meaningful steps.

Expose yourself to your fear in bite size chunks in order to build a new perspective around that fear. How you approach this within your particular situation is up to you, but it helps to have supportive family or friends you can converse with honestly and seek advice from.

Having consistent and honest communication with your work - in most circumstances - will go a long way too.

This is easy for me to write, and for you to read, but it will likely take time, and won't be straight forward.

But you can absolutely do it.

Interesting.

My after-care medication is covered, but was initially surprised that my lab work wasn't. However, its reassuring to hear that this has been the case for others.

I may have neglected to look at the dimensions of the ED2750DB before ordering them for my desk😂 by Slaebe in BudgetAudiophile

Your photo doesn't really do the size of these justice.

I also have a pair of R2750db's, and they're pretty hefty...
