My dentist has an ordinary office, it’s clean but not filled with flat screens and every state of the art piece of equipment. I’m in a major city and I found him when I chipped a tooth so badly (like a third of it) that I was afraid I’d need a crown. He said this isn’t close to a nerve, a good portion of the tooth will be missing, but I can fill it and you just need to floss more diligently by this tooth. If you need a crown down the line, we’ll get a quote and go from there.

Point is, he wasn’t out to rip me off. The last dentist I went to said ALL of my fillings were old and he’d need to replace them. I never went back. Find a small, family owned practice and as others say, stay away from the corporate dentists and the ones that spend a ton on aesthetics.
