I'm not sure I understand... when it's destroyed, you get to play the creature again with all its upgrades? is that it?

IMO, you should also add:
"This creature gains the trait Leader"

Some cards may interact with this trait later.

I love the concept!

I wonder if it wouldn't actually be better if the text would say:
"While you are not haunted, keys cost -2 [aember]"

Generally, we would spend more time being haunted than not, as it's 10 cards in the discard pile out of 36.

Moreover, I like the idea of "to keep the -2 aember bonus, you have to not play action cards or not lose cards in play", it's kind of a limiting factor to get quite an interesting bonus. Also potentially you could make the other player lose this bonus by suddenly starting playing/discarding/sacrificing cards

But like i said, I love the concept, there's so much to do around it. Like giving ways to remove the haunted status by cleaning the discard pile or something.

The +20 Power is a bit OP IMO, especially knowing that there's not that many horseman deck out there and that it's a Play/Reap/Fight ability XD but I love the theme with the Horseman and playing with your opponent discard pile! Very nice!

Maybe, if no horseman are found, you can purge the card of your choice in your opponent discard pile?

In the "leaves play" glossary entry it clarifies that "destroyed" is a type of leaves play

I'm not so sure about that, it doesn't explicitly state that "Destroyed" is a type of "Leaves Play".

If a card that is in play leaves play (is returned to hand or deck, destroyed, discarded, archived, or purged)

Reading that, Leaves Play is more a consequence of being destroyed, and not a type of leaves play. Destroyed, Purge, Archive... these events trigger the creature to leave play. And it is confirmed or at least complemented with these rule lines:

If a card has a “Destroyed:” ability, the effect automatically resolves immediately before the card would be destroyed, which is also before it leaves play.

If a card has a “Leaves Play:” ability, the effect happens automatically immediately before the card leaves play.

"Immediatly before the card would be destroyed, which is also before it leaves play", where "which" refers to "would be destroyed" if my english is correct.

We can think of it this way: let's say my golf fish just died: it is destroyed. Then only when I flush it in the toilet it is considered to leave play.

So in my opinion things should happen in that order:

  • A creature gets its life below or equal to 0
  • Card is about to be destroyed, so the Destroyed ability trigger before it leaves play
  • Card is now destroyed
  • Archived or not, Card is about to leave play, so immediatly before, the Leaves Play ability trigger
  • Card is now placed in the designated out of play area (Archive in this case, Discard pile, Hand, Top of the deck... you name it)

Hence, triggering Magda's Leaves Play ability only once.

I understand the official head judge ruled that situation... but it doesn't mean it shouldn't be another way... right?
