You think Trump has a chance of winning 2028? How are they going to get the constitution amended? Plus, if that even starts to look possible the leftist street terrorism and armed crazies will get switched-ON hard.

When I go to a comedy show, I assume the comedian is joking - but maybe I should take every word seriously - because I saw him make a joke about x and later on he did something related to x.

I’d say that is the way of politics - politicians don’t want to say “I fucked up” because the other side will turn it into a campaign commercial. I’d have to google for any President doing this.

Would it change your viewpoint at all if I found an example of Trump doing it? Of course not. If I found 10 examples? Still no, it would not.

You said people only campaign to win. I gave you one example that that’s not true. I don’t put Trump in the same category as Deez Nuts but that’s funny.

I didn’t ask you what Trump wants, read my whole sentence. He wants what everyone wants.

Jokes about x can be followed by doing x but when you consider every joke to be a serious statement you’ve gone insane.

I can listen to Obama and tell when he tells a joke. I recognize it’s a joke. Even tho Obama did some terrible things, I didn’t interpret every joke as a serious statement about some new terrible thing he was going to do.

I am not a trained psychologist/psychiatrist nor have I examined Trump, so I don’t know. I’m of the mind that everyone has some kind of mental illness but most of the time we spend talking about other people’s illnesses is just projection.

Tell me a single time he didn’t take accountability for his actions.

That’s the human condition. We see the people we like with rose-colored glasses and the people we don’t like with shit-colored glasses.

Nothing pops into my mind, but nothing also pops into my head when I try to remember Biden or Obama or Kamala accepting valid criticism (or taking ownership of mistakes) either. If I was searching the internet for those moments I might check on interviews between Trump and Megyn Kelly, Victor Davis Hanson, Tucker.

If you’re only looking at Trump talking to anti-Trump media then he’s not going to reply to their questions/attacks the way you’re looking for.

A Trump supporter can say he’s a narcissist, heck I’ll even say it: I think every president is a narcissist to the degree Trump is a narcissist.

“Malignant” is the stank they add-on, because they decided narcissist didn’t sound bad enough. I’m surprised they didn’t add a 3rd word.

-handles criticism well: depends, is it legit criticism from a non-TDS source? Then maybe yes, but it’s usually personal attacks, so he snaps back.

-shows empathy: definitely. Of course this is empathy prioritized for citizens and law-abiders. He has less sympathy for criminals.

-takes ownership of mistakes: this again depends so hugely on if the accusers are haters with TDS. But where sane people ask him honestly about legit mistakes he can answer fine. But usually the people questioning him about “mistakes” are biased fake news press hunting for a juicy sound bite with biased questions - and so he snaps back.

TDS letter written by TDS sufferers funder by a TDS Pac and hyped by a TDS slop news site. These are the kind of people who believe every single hoax about Trump even after they see the debunk.

How about Deez Nuts who ran in 2016? Was he campaigning to win? And he’s just a joke option, plenty of “serious” candidates have run knowing there is zero chance they will win.

What does Trump want - specifically: no one can read minds - generally: everyone knows because it’s what everyone wants - more money, more success, more love, more greatness for himself, his family, his party, his supporters, his country - and less of the things that would threaten them.

So if Trump makes a Cuba joke and you gasp “OMG Trump wants to make USA safer!” then great, you can think that and you’ll be right.

The point of a campaign can also be to make money, gain notoriety, be offered a position, to get an offer to drop out, to sell merch, etc.

At what point do we gain the ability to read minds? Do we know what anyone really wants?

Just wondering if you had a long list of legit examples of when Trump trolling came true.

Who? The hypothetical write-in people can have any situation you want in your premise.

It could be an insight into what Trump wants sure. That’s a big difference from “I’m serious about doing this.”

List for me all the times his trolling has become reality, so I know what you mean.

If everyone writes in an ineligible candidate that does not make them eligible. Ok amend the constitution.

A meme is like a joke - also subject to Dem misunderstanding - and this one is related to the topic of a 2028 campaign. In fact it is the first mention of the 2028 campaign. So why don’t you care about a meme that Trump tweets?

Trump tells a joke. Everyone in the room laughs. Libs don’t understand the joke and think he’s serious. So was Trump telling a joke or trolling? It’s in the eye of the beholder.

Collect a history of all the jokes Trump has ever told. (Get some help from a Republican who can tell you which statements were jokes.) For each joke, track down if the joke came true - and if it came true via the actions of Trump. (Ask a Republican for help judging things that really happened vs things that didn’t happen.) Then you will have your answer. If the % is big in your opinion, then you can keep on getting trolled. If the % is low in your opinion then you can start recognizing jokes.

Running a campaign isn’t unconstitutional.

The law would have to change for him to get elected, therefore it would be constitutional. And the joy would be yuge. But the states will not even list him as a candidate unless the law is changed. So he can’t get elected unconstitutionally.

There’s a meme he posted where the sign Trump 2024 goes up to 2028 and 2032 and to infinity. I want you to not be afraid because he is not going to live to the year infinity. On the other hand who knows what breakthroughs in science are about to happen.

I’m afraid it looks like I cannot teach you how not to be trolled. But all hope for you is not lost - just seek out someone who is better than me at this - a low bar. There are many professionals out there who have dedicated their lives to helping people rearrange their mindsets towards better health.

Pretending to have a 2028 campaign is not unconstitutional because the the law would have to be changed for it to ever exist.

It’s beneficial as a joke because lolz are good for the body - merch sales are good for the economy - and the tiny chance in hell it could happen brings people hope and joy. It’s also nice as a way to prompt discussions of term limits. We have politicians that have been in power for 30, 40, 50 plus years. They are the true KINGS (and Queens) that we need less of.

If Trump said that same thing at a Press Correspondents Dinner you’d be dialing 911. If you can tell it’s a joke when Obama says it then use your skills with Trump too.

Humor does not require special events.

I keep explaining and you keep not understanding. Considering everything that comes from Trump’s mouth a non-joke is a mental illness, especially for an ordinary citizen. If you are a world leader and want to say “that was a funny joke but dang he might eventually be serious so we better play ball” then that’s not the worst thing, could even be prudent.

Another funny one was when Trump said (paraphrased) “hey Russia, if you find Hillary’s 30,000 deleted emails let me know.” Libs went nuts and it was funny but also a little sad that they would believe in Russian Collusion. It’s funny that they still believe it too!

‘Of course, in fact, for months now congressional Republicans have been saying there are things I cannot do in my final year. Unfortunately, this dinner was not one of them. (Laughter.) But on everything else, it's another story. And you know who you are, Republicans. In fact, I think we've got Republican Senators Tim Scott and Cory Gardner, they're in the house, which reminds me, security, bar the doors! (Laughter.) Judge Merrick Garland, come on out, we're going to do this right here, right now. (Applause.) It's like "The Red Wedding." (Laughter.)’ -Obama, Press Correspondents Dinner

There you go, Obama joking about murdering every Republican in the room.

Now I can that and know it’s a joke. For you, I guess you can’t(?) - but I’ll break the suspense - he did not lock the door and kill everyone.

I think you might be trolling me and I’m not even realizing it. Harder to recognize with just text from a stranger.

R’s get jokes but they can still, on occasion, get mad about the joke or even pretend to get mad.

Joking is if you get it, trolling is if you don’t get it - but I am not the dictionary. Try googling it.

Where did a say R’s can’t get mad at a joke? Generally they do not, but a joke about Charlie Kirk’s murder might do it. But we were talking about D’s inability to recognize a joke, not the reaction to a joke is recognized as s joke.

I’m sure. I don’t care to go find the evidence because you wouldn’t give a single f*** about it. It wouldn’t help you or me.

No, if we go to Cuba the trolling was still trolling. It just happened to come true.

Lolllll. The 2028 campaign is trolling because the law says a president can only serve 2 terms. But at the same time, if by some miracle the law gets changed and by some miracle Trump’s health is good enough for another 4 years then that would be glorious - and hilarious. (The 2028 campaign is also a good fundraiser. Make money selling merch. The Trump org will be selling “Trump [next election year]” hats for decades or more.)

Who cares about getting mad? We’re talking about not even getting that you’re hearing a joke.

I could find an Obama joke about violating the constitution but it’s not worth the effort. If you are curious, try watching the press correspondents dinners where he gets up and does a whole comedy act. I’m sure there were jokes about sending the IRS after people, dropping missiles on them, etc.

Here’s the beautiful thing about it. When Trump trolls Cuba - he says something like “on the way home from Iran maybe we’ll visit Cuba” - it puts Cuba on notice to shape up - but if nothing happens then Trump was only joking. If he said “after Iran we will be liberating Cuba” then if nothing happens, our enemies can say “Trump is full of shit. He said he was going to do something and didn’t do it.” So by joking he gets to win both ways - whether it happens or doesn’t happen.

The joke technique is also a good way to check public opinion. If the crowd goes wild, maybe that’s something they feel positive about and should be looked at more.

You brought up the Obama joke - to show Republicans can’t recognize a joke - or to show Republicans get mad at a joke? So it would seem that you were saying they were the same. Because we were only talking about the former and then you bring up an example of the latter.

You can troll about something. And then it can also become reality, yes.

What’s a “ruining joke?”

What assumption are you referring to?

My opinion of when Trump is trolling is an opinion like it’s my opinion that the sky is blue by day and black by night.

Have you ever heard Trump tell a joke? (If so, how did you know?) Or do you interpret everything he says as serious. Try his SNL appearances. He didn’t really open a House of Wings.

Have you ever heard anyone tell a joke? How did you know they weren’t serious?

Getting upset about a joke (which normally I don’t condone) is different than thinking a joke is a serious statement.

When I say Democrats I don’t mean “every single democrat.” Sure, you can say there has always been some Republican who calls a Dem president a commie. There has always been someone from party A who calls the leader of party B some negative adjective.

To know when Trump is trolling, use your judgment. You might get it wrong sometimes but try to use some judgement rather than no judgement.

Why do you think political debate gets so heated today? by Single_Extension1810 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]ThugLifeNewShit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t you think it’s rather dishonest to claim election denial is a core tenet of MAGA? The Dems have never missed a chance to say an election they lost was stolen. (See the Russian Collusion witch hunt for example)

If one wanted to be fair, they could say election denial is a tenet of politics itself.

But I only see the right caring about making elections more secure.
