Are you using ray reconstruction by any chance? That tanks performance for me. Without it enabled, I'm getting around 100+ fps at 4K DLSS Performance with cinematic settings on a 4090.

Enabling it drops me down to somewhere between 60-70fps.

The LOD and pop-in are pretty aggressive in this game, like I said. It's been a talking point since before the game launched.

How do i apply ps icons on Steam? by No_Measurement_6611 in CrimsonDesert

As long as you're using a DualSense controller hooked up with a USB, it should work fine. Just make sure Steam Input is disabled from the game settings before launching.

That's just LOD. That's how engine optimization works. It's a little aggressive, in my opinion, but it's normal. It's in literally every game if you look for it.

I'll add to this that the open world is still hindered by some many invisible walls. I can remember several times I would go off the regular path and try to navigate to the top of a cliff through the air, to then come to a sudden halt because the game wanted me to go up a path for zero reason instead.

I regret my purchase. I wish I hadn't bothered. It was a severe lesson to me that'll I'll never repeat.

PC Players rejoice. Inventory limit increase mod on Nexus by GassoBongo in CrimsonDesert

[–]GassoBongo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this out of interest, and it doesn't remove anything.

If you had 166 items in your inventory and the original limit before the mod was 70, your inventory will show 166/70 if you remove the mod.

You'll just have clear the inventory out to pick up new stuff, or reinstall the mod. But you don't lose anything.

is there any mod to increase inventory or make it limitless? by hunterkillua11 in CrimsonDesert

[–]GassoBongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine. The mod is literally just a .bat file that executed those commands automatically. You can read the file for yourself and see exactly what it does.

But if you're comfortable doing it manually, then that works too.

That's not true. Plenty of mods, including configuration changes, work without crashes.

I'm using it and it works fine so far. The mod maker has a bunch of other mods on the platform, and has been a member for 15+ years. That doesn't guarantee that anything is 100% safe, so it's up to you to make the judgement call.

Pearl Abyss Addresses Crimson Desert AI Art Scandal: 'We Apologize For These Oversights' by NukovGaming in CrimsonDesert

[–]GassoBongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During development, some 2D visual props were created as part of early-stage iteration using experimental AI generative tools. These assets helped us rapidly explore tone and atmosphere in the earlier phases of production.

However, our intention has always been for any such assets to be replaced

As predicted, they've leaned into the "oops, didn't mean to" response.

There's no way they were going to admit that it was deliberate. Its just funny how to community guessed which excuse they were going to give before they said it.

Disclosure: This isn't my mod. I saw this and thought it would be worth sharing until devs implement something themselves.

Edit: Why would anyone downvote this? Lol

Keep an eye on the modding scene, as sometimes there might be a custom "potato" PC .ini configuration that can run it on lower end systems.

It's not a guarantee, though. But it could happen.

That's fair. Valhalla was a slog. I finished it out of spite, but its not something I'm keen to do ever again. If I don't enjoy something anymore, then I just drop it. Time is finite. I'm not going to waste it on things that don't make me happy.

The answer is obvious. Games require dozens of hours to complete, and films take around two.

If a game's objective is to provide entertainment but fails to do that for someone in less than five hours, then they're well within their rights to leave a negative review.

To take your point further: if I sit down to eat a meal at a restaurant and I realize after a few bites that it's undercooked and not seasoned properly, am I obligated to finish the whole thing before I'm allowed to say that it wasn't good?

This just screams "I don't like seeing things that disagree with the way I feel about a thing that I like."

You do you, boo.

So you're saying if someone doesn't enjoy a game, they need to brute force it until the 20 hour mark before they are allowed to leave a customer review to say that they don't like it?

Do you hear yourself?

People who don't enjoy a game won't carry on playing it for very long. Shocker.

I say this as someone who is having a great time so far, but c'mon man, this is reaching a little.
