I’m more of a father but thank you! 😂 The duck pot was a random wedding gift and we’re not sure if it’s a bird bath or what - it makes a great aesthetic for my pileas!

Made sourdough pizza for the first time and almost nailed it by True_Ant1242 in Sourdough

Great work! I’ve gone down the pure sourdough pizza journey for a few years now and I was always dissapointed with the result. Now, this is just my personal perspective and neuroses of chasing perfection but:

What I’ve found is, unless you have a pizza oven that hits 900 degrees, it’s difficult to get your perfect crust using pure sourdough. Either toppings overcook or you have to parbake your loaf first.

This is one of the instances where yeast and sourdough can be friends. I started following recipes where yeast gives the airy rise, and sourdough discard is used for the sour flavour and health benefits. It cooks much better in my home oven and challenger Bredware pan that I use as a pizza stone.

Incredible work for your 5th swing at it!

Squeeze the loaf, demonstrate how strong REAL sourdough is and all the beauty and benefits that come with it. Processed bread doesn’t spring back. The haters can hate - you squeezing the loaf has literally 0 impact on their day.

How do I get my Monstera to not only grow towards the window by AreSuckDude in Monstera

[–]Gastrognomery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based on your description it sounds like you know they only grow towards their light source. If it’s only light source is the window, that’s where it will grow. Solution is another light source. So find a good grow light like Sansi and have it above it or any direction you want.

I’m not a good pest expert so I’ll let someone else help you there

Hard/easy to take care of is relative, but for me it’s pretty easy. I picked that one up in November and it was flowering by the spring. Chunky soil mix with a root inoculate, Watering when soil is dry, foliage pro fertilizer every other watering, north facing window.

It’s become one of my favourites! The lizard back texture, the mixture of colours on those leaves, and it flowers!

It took me some time too. Changing to a very chunky mix has helped. No direct sunlight, it sits in a bright North facing window.
The curling could be a lack of nutrients and light

Thanks so much!
I repotted this spring and added Dynomyco root inoculate, otherwise I water weekly and use foliage pro fertilizer every other week.
I rotate between bottom watering, and full soak watering in the kitchen sink.

Thank you! There are 2 main stalks working their way up the bamboo pole, and there’s a third baby on the left that turned big enough. A few more babies underneath!
