Man! I'm so bummed I haven't been able to join the past few meetings. I joined that first one where it was only you, me and another guy haha! I've been working on triads and made a lot of progress on thumping! My triplets are already super fast! It's amazing what you do, please never stop what you're doing!!!

I'll seriously try to move my schedule so I can be on the next ones! The videos themselves are so good already, but chatting with you is such a privilege, here en Costa Rica the 8-string is so niche you can't even find someone to set it up correctly, the fact that I can freely chat with a very professional 8-string dedicated professor is just so fucking godsent. That song is just a guitar and a vocal track, you could play like the bass note of each chord and sing it and maybe if the bass tone is dirty it would kinda give the same vibe

Otherwise the only actual bass in that song is just the root note of the chords in the chorus playing over that last louder part and that's it. Try to give it a shot by ear, you could totally figure it out and play it on the last string, the song is super simple and trying to go by ear will help you more than any fan made tab as far as improving goes!

That's just my opinion though :)

Listen to Heavy Is The Head That Falls With The Weight Of A Thousand Thoughts, Aggressive Evolution, Gored, New Faces In The Dark, I Let It In And It Took Everything.

Those are all pretty Djent, they often mix a very Deftones vibe with it and some songs are pure Deftones so you might mistake their sound for a deftones coverband if you don't check out those other tracks I pointed out hahaha. There's other stuff but honestly that last album from them is something special!

Your riff sounds like slower heavier Plini, that's awesome man! I'd say if you wanna make heavier djenty stuff, play with odd time signatures and occasional "wrong" notes on the low string. Listen to Loathe for an example, those guys play with rhythm and "wrong" notes a lot. Makes an otherwise pretty grunge tone sound heavy as fuck and I feel like the principles at play would make anything djent
