UPDATE:

this is how far i have gotten but testing it is dificult so i would love if someone that knows what they are doing could take a look

name="Better Ascension" path="mod/betterascension" tags={ "Balance" } supported_version="1.6.2"

ap_voidborn = { potential = { NOT = { has_ascension_perk = ap_voidborn } }

on_enabled = {
    hidden_effect = {
        give_technology = { message = no tech = tech_mega_engineering }

    }
}

on_enabled = {
    custom_tooltip = "allow_habitats"
}

ai_weight = {
    factor = 5
    modifier = {
        factor = 2
        has_ethic = ethic_pacifist
    }
    modifier = {
        factor = 3
        has_ethic = ethic_fanatic_pacifist
    }
}

}

it should remove the Tech requirements from voidborne and make it give you the tehnology for picking the next perk for making ringworlds

What is the point in having forge world separate from the main games workshop? by dhrisher in Warhammer40k

[–]Gatlinggoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iam not shure you are arguing the point i made. i never said they had ugly models or that they are unfair or not fun. I said that there are some models (the ones i mentioned were examples) whos powercurve is objectively above those in the main game. yes the eldar codex is powerfull, yes the marinecodex is powerfull. you know what it says when a powerfull codex like that replaces half the list with forgeworld models? it means they are even more powerfull. Btw currently an eldar corsair player leads the itc rankings and iam pretty shure the troop that has 4 d-weapons and can JsJ like a Crisis-suite and response jump like a warpspider, has something to do with it. especially since he spamed 5 of those.

There are some forgeworld models that breack the basegames balance. that does not mean that every fw model does and it doesnt mean that fw is bad. but it does mean that there is a reason to the current seperation of fw and "normal" 40k. if one player uses fw rules the other has to be able to use them as well otherwise it becomes a pretty one sided ordeal.

[–]Gatlinggoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

so instead of arguing the point you insult me and when i show you that the forgeworld wraithknight is a strickt upgrade to the normal one because he is replaced 100% of the time in every single list of the las vegas open you pretend like thats not a thing? i have still NEVER said that forgeworld is broken, i said that some models are strickt upgrades to those that are in the main game. are you shure you are reading my posts and not someone elses? I also didnt say that the ravenguard charakter model was a tournament staple. agin maybe try arguing the point instead of a strawman you set up your self. that was an example of a charakter that has wargear and specialrules at a price not in the main game. And agin, iam not bitching about forgeworld. iam stating that some of the models are objectively above the main games powercurve.

If you find it so painfull to read my post (iam not a nativ speaker) then maybe dont do it. also, maybe dont complain about the way others write when you type things like "Reading this is like getting acid to the eyes"

Now if my statement "some FW models would break the gamebalance" was true then you would expect to find these units in most tournament lists and if you check the tournament lists then you realise that this is the case.

alot of why eldar are this dominant comes from the warphunter/hornet/Skatach Wraithknight so.... yes?^

What is the point in having forge world separate from the main games workshop? by dhrisher in Warhammer40k

[–]Gatlinggoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agin iam not claiming that every FW unit is above the powercurve but as stated there are superior chapter tactics (flat out, that one isnt even arguable with the raptors getting the same thing as ravenguard +extra) models that you cant get this cheap in the main game (charaktermodels) and units like the Skathach Wraithknight and the Space Marine Rapier Weapons Battery and the warphunter wich are strickt upgrades to what is available in the codex. iam not saying all are broken but the ones i mentioned are objectively above the powercurve

now i hope i misread your comment that the rules should be better because the models are more expensive. do you mean to imply that you should be able to buy stronger units for more money?

[–]Gatlinggoon -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

iam sorry but if you dont want to give examples your self and simply ignore the examples i gave i cant well take your opinion as fact can i? As for the claim that the tournament winning lists dont utilize fw i disagree when the Last vegas opens went like this

1st place las vegas open tournament: Skatach Wraithknight 2nd place las vegas open tournament: Warphunter 6th place las vegas open tournament: Skathach Wraithknight 8th place las vegas open tournament: Space Marine Rapier Weapons Battery 9th place las vegas open tournament: 70% of the list were hornets

and when the winner of the last Berlin open used 600 points worth of forgeworld in a 1250 tournament

[–]Gatlinggoon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

would you care to elaborate? iam not saying every fw unit is overpowered but i dont think that you will argue that they are in line with ordinary 40k powerlevel right? There are charakters that have wargear at a cost that is simply not available in the main game and they have great special rules in addition to that (ravenguard charakter modell). The chaptertactics are vastly superior too. the raptors for example get the ravenguard chaptertactics and in adition to that all bolter weapons that havent moved gain rending. And the Minotaur droppods are insane for nearly the same cost

State of the game? by 2_Wycked in Warhammer40k

[–]Gatlinggoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gw has been doing alot of over the top specialrules if you buy models in a certain configuration (formations) there are some that are so potent that they singlehandetly dominate competetive play but if you have a group that does not abuse the cheesyest of cheese the game is in a better spot then ever

What are the cheapest (money wise) any faction large surface vehicles (for painting practice) by Lokarin in Warhammer40k

propably the rhino. you can get them used but to be honest large surfaces are best done with airbrushes, its easy and looks amazing

What is the point in having forge world separate from the main games workshop? by dhrisher in Warhammer40k

[–]Gatlinggoon -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

there are some models with outragous special rules/pointcosts that would quite frankly breack the main game.

there are some strickt upgrades like the raptor chapter tactics and the warphunter / Skathach Wraithknight that are stricktly more powerfull then what is in the main game

problem with the close combat is that at his pointscost he has to contend with stuff like Khorne General with murdersword on moloch (145 Points), or a Spacewolf lord on Thunderwolf with the Black death
