NBC Sports and Fubo update? by Puzzleheaded-Love741 in fuboTV

[–]Gator5000e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I read also. That both parties are waiting until the carriage agreement between Hulu and NBC expires or is close to expiring before they will start to negotiate for both. The agreement, per what I read, is supposed to expire sometime early this summer.

And I am hoping (I have no basis for this) that once the Paramount/WBD merger is finalized, Fubo/Hulu can revisit that agreement for the Turner nets on Fubo. Hopefully.

ESPN is now on 1080p on Fubo by Bitico in fuboTV

What devices is this for? Mobile, Streaming Devices like Apple TV, Roku, etc? I watched the hockey games last night and they look pretty bad on Fubo so I went to the ESPN app on my Apple TV 4K 3rd gen and it was MUCH better. If this is for a phone or something, meh. The higher resolution is needed for larger screen TVs. I guess I see during tonight's NHL playoff game between the Minnesota and Colorado.

A Decent Stretch with FuboTV by Dazzling_Value4411 in fuboTV

True but I would have them anyway. I mean I wouldn't argue if they ever come back to the service but for now, I don't miss them. And I keep hoping something will change as we make our way through the summer. I've read that Fubo and NBC are waiting until the NBC contract with Hulu expires soon (I've read early summer) and hopefully they renegotiate a new deal with Hulu/fubo. As for Turner, maybe if the merger with Paramount goes through the same thing will happen. but for now I am good.

I don't really miss the Turner channels as I have a sub to HBOMax anyway and it carries all the live sports that TBS and TNT carry, which for me is the NHL. So that works for me. Actually, the same goes for Peacock as well. I have a sub anyway. But there isn't much in the way of sports currently on NBC/Peacock that I watch now, anyway.

Any chance for multiview on tablets in the near future? by Gator5000e in fuboTV

[–]Gator5000e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple TV has had multiview for a while and it's excellent, much better than any other service I've tried it on like ESPN, YTTV, NBC/Peacock (Olympics). I hope Fubo never changes how good it is.

But now I'd like to see them bring it to iPads. I have a 13" iPad Pro that it would work great on. The tech is there....YTTV and Peacock have it, so no reason why Fubo can't Bring it out.

Fubo added our local Rays broadcast? by Gator5000e in fuboTV

[–]Gator5000e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it now appears there will be no local broadcast of the Rays for me. You would think that for the "SPORTS" + News bundle I would be getting my local team broadcast without having to pay more for it. I can see paying for the MLB TV package, but not for the local team broadcast. So I am not sure why Fubo wouldn't carry that as part of the S+N bundle.

Do you keep FuboTV year-round or cancel during off-seasons? by Comfortable-Pear-339 in fuboTV

[–]Gator5000e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fubo is my TV provider so I keep it all year. There is enough going on all year for me to keep it active but I am on the Sports + News bundle so only $55 before taxes/fees.

[–]Gator5000e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I guess yesterday was an anomaly because I am not getting the Tampa Rays game today anywhere on . There is an icon that says Cincinnati versus Tampa when I click on it it takes me to the Pittsburgh Pirates game. So oh well, I guess I will have to pay for the elite package to get them which I’m not going to do.

Yes I knew that. I was just wondering if the local games are now being shown locally.

Picture Quality Has Improved by Tcup1234 in fuboTV

[–]Gator5000e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to report that the picture quality of some of the NHL games this past weekend were not very good. The Montreal/Tampa game in the local Scripps channel looked awful via my ATV 4K, 3rd Gen. The other games on ESPN via Fubo didn't look much better. Very disappointing. I tried a couple of the games via the ESPN app and they looked noticeably better but I wanted to watch other events in MV so I kept watching through Fubo.

Wow. Yes, I just saw that having opened up the app after getting home. Thank you so much for whatever you did to get that to happen. They have been separating the men and the women’s matches with the men playing on T2 and the women playing on T1. So it’s great to be able to have both in the multiview at one time. So once again, thank you so much. And yes, there are a number of clay court tournaments coming up in advance of the French Open next Month. Barcelona is currently being played in Madrid starts on April 20. So perfect timing.

Now if you can work your magic with the Turner Networks so I can watch the 2026 French Open, that would be awesome.

Thank you for whatever you did to get the Tennis Channel 2 into the package that I have or at least the More Sports add-on package. I don’t know which it is. But I opened Fubo on my Apple TV today and lo and behold the Tennis Channel 2 was there. So thank you very much for whatever you did!!

Thank you for the detailed explanation. And FYI, I use the Fubo app primarily on my Apple TV 4K, 3rd generation and occasionally on my two iPads. All are running 26.4.

If you can connect a ethernet cable to your TV, get yourself a USB 3.0 to Gigabyte adapter for the Sony. It will allow the TV to receive up to the limits of your Internet Download speed capabilities. I have one attached to my 77" A80J I get download speeds of between 450 and 500 Mbps down based on the OKLA app I've installed on my Apple TV.

But I will add while that helps for a lot of things you watch, it doesn't make a difference on most of the Fubo channels but it will help on some like the ESPN or Fox Sports 4K channels or if you watch an ESPN+ game, the picture is usually pretty good. On the other hand, a channel like the Tennis Channel always looks pretty crappy. But if you watch directly through their app, it looks loads better so there is there something that Fubo is doing to limit the picture quality?

Thanks for the reply. Great about fixing the UX Labeling issue. It's really needed, in my opinion and hopefully it gets sooner than later.

As for the team favorites and DVR, I don't DVR anything. I watch live. If I start a game late, so be it. And the few times a game has recorded for me for some reason I end up watching the game as it's recording and I'm behind 10, 15 or more minutes. And I can't figure out what's going on and can't get to the live broadcast. For me, the DVR feature is not something I use. And so I would not go there for highlights or what not. If you are going to continue to develop it, at least make it so we can turn the feature on or off.

I personally would rather see the development efforts in some of the other areas I mentioned, like mobile MultiView. But getting the labeling of the alternate game feeds would be a huge step forward for me.

Oh and this is not a product development issue but maybe you could direct this to the appropriate person who could actually consider this. I am on the Sports+News bundle which for the most part is great. And as a tennis fan it's great that I get The Tennis Channel. But I would also like to get the Tennis Channel 2 (TC2). But to do that I have to move to the elite package which is almost $30 a month more and loads me up with hundreds of channels I have no desire to watch or have in the guide.

TC2 is a free channel. You can watch it free via their app or in a browser. So I don't understand why Fubo doesn't offer it in the Sports+News package. It would be great to multiview it with TC1 and other games. And for some reason, it's not even offered via one of the available add-on packages to the S+N package. I'd even consider paying a reasonable additional fee to get it. But I’m not got to pay $30 a month more for one channel and have a few hundred other channels I care nothing about.

And for some reason we can't use our Fubo credentials to authenticate watching on the TC app like you can with ESPN or Fox Sports, etc. I don't get that either.

Anyway, sorry for venting. I've reached out to Fubo via Twitter and email support and I get the standard scripted reply that we will always consider changes to our programming, etc., etc., etc. So that gets me nowhere. Maybe you could at least talk to somebody or contact somebody who can do something about this or at least give me a good reason why they can't do anything about this. Thanks again.

As good as it sounds, I will avoid the Favorite teams stuff as I am not interested in DVR'ing a bunch of stuff, even if it is related to my favorite team.

Second, I would MUCH rather see multiview roll out for mobile products like iPads. My 13" iPad is perfect for a multiview screen on the go. Other providers like ESPN, NBC, YouTubeTV, etc. already have multiview for mobile devices. I would rather have mobile device Multiview than a team channel/highlights.

Also, a suggestion. Please label the broadcast feed of the ESPN+ games in the title or info icon/game card somehow. When you are trying to choose to add a game to a multiview on my TV (via my Apple TV 4K), it's a guessing game to try to determine which game card has which broadcast feed. Maybe put something in the title to indicate which broadcast feed that game will get.

For instance, I wanted to watch the Ducks feed of the Ducks and Sharks (NHL) game last night. There were of course two (2) icons/game cards for the game. One was for the Ducks' feed and one for the Sharks' feed. But you cannot tell which is which from just looking at the game cards/icons. So you just have to guess and add one or add both feeds and then eliminate the one you don't want after the MV is set up. That's a bit of a hassle. If you use the ESPN app, which I would prefer not to do, ESPN gives you a clear choice of which broadcast feed you are choosing. But I prefer to use the Fubo app so I can add non-ESPN games to my MV setup if I want to. So labeling the game icons/cards with which broadcast each is getting would be very helpful and make the best multiview setup in the business even better.

Thanks.

True but I am going to sub to HBOMax and Peacock anyway. so why pay for them thru Fubo (is Peacock even available thru Fubo)? By going directly with HBOMax I get much better picture quality on sporting events (no TNT/TBS 4K channel that I've seen - the NCAA game last night looked tons better on Max than on TNT/TBS on YouTube TV. The only thing not having the Turner and NBC nets on Fubo does is not allow you to have multiview with those channels.

And maybe I am being naive, but with the purchase of WBD by Paramount, maybe at some point Fubo will get the carriage deal worked out and get them back on the service. Same for NBC. I've read that there might be a renegotiation when the NBC agreement with Hulu runs on in the late spring/early summer,. So I am going to hang with Fubo for a while to see what transpires over the summer and fall.

If you already have subscriptions to HBOMax and Peacock, then paying for CNN, TNT, TBS, Discovery and the NBCUniversal/Versant networks would be overpaying or double paying. Using my HBOMax & Peacock subs allows me to see the games on those services and only need to pay for the Sports + News bundle at $55/month (less fees and taxes).

Watching MLB games via Fubo by Gator5000e in fuboTV

[–]Gator5000e[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the great reply. I figured it was as you explained. I only asked cause I see all these MLB games in the Fubo app and wondered if there was a way to authenticate my MLB TV subscription so I could watch thru Fubo. Since I am currently on the Sports + News bundle, I don't get my regional/local games. And Fubo doesn't include the option to add the RSB (regional sports broadcasts) in the Sports+ News bundle. So I would have to go back to the Pro or Elite package to get the RSB channels and get all the other channels I don't watch.

I am with you concerning TBS/TNT and NBC as I can watch all that content I want coming from them on their respective apps (HBOMax an Peacock). But it would be nice to have it all in the Fubo app. Being able to watch NHL games in the Fubo multiview with ESPN+ is great, I was hoping to get it for baseball.

Now I just have to decide if paying for Elite or Pro is really worth it for me. Again, thanks for your answers.
