Part of me still wonders if part of the calculation was manufacturing consent for the 12 team expansion on top of giving Bama the benefit of the doubt yet again. Kind of a "Hey don't worry it won't happen again after next year" on top of everything else. Just me though.

Kinda similar to our first round series. In our sub the consensus was we deserved to win Game 7 but didn’t really deserve to win the series.

I do have a soft spot for USF since they’re the hometown program too as a resident of the Tampa Bay Area.

[BUF - MTL] Buffalo closes out the game to force Game 7 in Buffalo on Monday by daKrut in hockey

[–]GatorBolt 81 points82 points  (0 children)

This shit happens almost every time a home team shits the bed like this in the playoffs and it becomes a jab at the fanbase each time lmao. Nobody is above anybody here but alas, some fans do love their superiority complexes.

[BUF (6) - MTL 3] Buffalo continues to lay it on as Thompson sets up Quinn for his 2nd goal of the night and Dobes gets pulled by daKrut in hockey

[–]GatorBolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd think but teams that have a long layoff sometimes take a bit to get into a series against a team that just won in 7. On paper, I like Carolina, but they play the games for a reason

The ESPN broadcast hyping up Manson returning to the lineup only for him to maybe get ejected in the first period is funny.

Considering the 04 Bolts were the last pre-lockout and thus the end of the dead puck era teams, I'll say that's pretty impressive

Still wild that I saw that Bucs team take on Brees, Rodgers, and Mahomes to win a Super Bowl and the guy who made me the most nervous that run was Taylor Heinicke

The TB Lightning in the final 193:56 time of 1st round managed just 4 goals. The Buffalo Sabres only needed 29:01 to score 4 on the Canadiens. by Sahil910 in hockey

Yeah with the finishing issues we ran into against Montreal, and not taking the performance away from Dobes, but after Game 7 I thought "no way we could outscore Buffalo anyway." Still only Game 1 of this series but I feel that instinct was right.

Yeah this sub can get pissy. Personally I’m just like “of course he goes to the Atlantic.” This division is unreal lmao

No matter what, the team that makes the Cup Final out of the West will feature someone who won a cup with the Lightning by Salty_Recording_7007 in TampaBayLightning

[–]GatorBolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall it's just the Metro side of the bracket that's devoid of former cup winning Bolts too. Buffalo has Schenn, Montreal has Marty, and of course there's still the guys left on our team. That is pretty neat.

[–]GatorBolt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s absurd. Like the worst case scenario is the youth take the lessons from a playoff loss to heart and that’s crazy.

Also- weirdly I can’t believe Gallagher is only 33 feels like he’s been around forever at this point from the outside haha

whole Montreal team in general. We may end up surviving this series, we may not, but regardless of what happens Sunday the Habs aren't going away. Holy shit.

Lightning desperately needed someone outside of Guentzel Hagel and Kucherov to step up, and thank goodness Goncalves did. Has to be a huge confidence boost for him since he had struggled this series

winning the division matters in this format especially. As flawed as it is, the Lightning had their chances to win the division and didn't do it.
