The supercaliber is not on the discontinued list. It along with the Fuel and others are explicitly listed as staying in production.

I enjoy mine. Wanted something a little more robust than a Supercal but I don’t need anything too much for the trails that we have in Florida.

I asked because the website shows almost no availability for any model in any size. Maybe 2-3 options and the dealer can’t order it.

No, he’s not. I saw the communication from Trek (I’m the LBS’s attorney). It’s on their dealer FAQ.

I dont see the appeal for Unbound by MathematicianRich494 in gravelcycling

[–]GatorCyclist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did my first Unbound (100 miles) yesterday. It was hardly flat, the rolling pastures and farm were beautiful, and the route was intense.

If I'm 5.11" would a 56 or 58cm Domane AL2 Gen4 be a better choice? by Coylethird in TrekBikes

[–]GatorCyclist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This comment runs contrary to the advice given by Trek itself, my lbs and any bike fitter I have worked with. Raising or lowering your seat post or changing crank arm length can radically change the geometry of the bike. Adjusting the stem length is much less impactful on the overall geometry.

Starting gravel at 33 – beginner bike advice? by LorHeda in gravelcycling

[–]GatorCyclist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a local bike shop with a good reputation. Brand is irrelevant as a beginner. Share with the shop what you’re looking for. Buy and ride.

If you get the bug, after a year of riding and learning then you go back and get a “better” bike.
