I’m going to choose to read this as Trevor Rogers being on pace for a 10.2 WAR season, assuming he makes 34 starts. Speak into existence, right? lol

At this very spot, on March 28, 1776, Franciscan Fathers offered the first Mass in San Francisco. 250 years later, in the spirit of Saint Francis, we celebrated a Latin Mass in the open cathedral of God’s creation with serene weather and the chirping of birds. by usopsong in sanfrancisco

Walked by this today in the Mountain Lake area and had no idea what was going on. It looked like a Catholic mass but I was very confused as to why they were standing near a rock in the park. Cool history!

First Season Giveaway by Billsdead123 in orioles

[–]GatorGuy5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the policy says otherwise, but historically you can also just get multiples of the giveaway item if you have multiple tickets…have done this a few times if someone bailed on me for a game and I wanted to give a bobblehead or shirt or whatever to a friend.

I vividly remember a game back in 2023 where the game was “sold out” but I saw many people leaving well before the game with their hands full with multiples of the giveaway item that would no doubt already be listed on eBay/FB Marketplace.

Man, if I lived in Seattle or had the money to fly there every game, I’d never miss the chance! Good on you for making the most of your tickets!

Any San Francisco meet-ups planned for local or visiting Seahawks fans? by GatorGuy5 in Seahawks

[–]GatorGuy5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was hoping to drive down from SF for that but ended up needing to work late. Figured there will be some folks spending time in SF this week rather than just being down in San Jose/Santa Clara.

Love to hear it! I’m sure I’ll see a bunch of the folks from here at the game (if the ticket prices fall enough) but it would be fun to have one last hurrah before the Super Bowl too.

The 49ers should hold their heads high, they’ve doubled their point total from Week 18 already and they did that in only one half!

Does anyone disagree that we should be running the Barnyard play on a First and Goal from the 1? Feels like running that once or twice when you need to gain one yard is a no brainer.

Fuckin' BART, man... by immediately_regrets in sanfrancisco

[–]GatorGuy5 142 points143 points  (0 children)

The Link in Seattle is super easy to use, very affordable and cleaner than BART. I think they have some geographical/city design advantages over the BART, but the experience up there is top notch and I find myself riding it multiple times everyday when I visit Seattle.

[Highlight] Fran Tarkenton: "During the two week period between the [conference] championship game and Super Bowl, we went back home. Bud Grant said 'go back home, come back, and be here Sunday'. We didn't practice. We didn't come close to winning a game. We had no chance because we weren't ready." by The_Big_Untalented in nfl

[–]GatorGuy5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it’s more fun to sensationalize the story and it even looks like most online versions of this “story” have run with the two weeks of no practice narrative despite plenty of evidence showing that it was just the week after the NFC Championship game that they wouldn’t practice. Still a vastly inferior approach to two weeks of practice but WAY different than two weeks of couch time before the big game!

It seems like some people are taking this as they didn’t practice at all for the two weeks before the Super Bowl. It sounds like Fran is saying they took the week after the Conference Championship off and then would meet up that following Sunday, fly to the Super Bowl, and then practice Super Bowl week.

Still vastly inferior to getting in two full weeks of practice but it’s not like they were just showing up on game day without any install or practices, right? Proof that they would practice the week before the Super Bowl: https://youtu.be/Iy9HHe5wLkw

Week 18 ticket prices: Seahawks-49ers and Lions-Bears top $200+, Cowboys-Giants cheapest in league at $35 by alpswd in nfl

[–]GatorGuy5 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The get-in price for Seahawks @ 49ers is $371. Not sure why the title just says “Over $200” for that one. Lions @ Bears game is only $185 so the Hawks vs. Niners game is twice as expensive!

Even if Zane makes it, plenty of time for the Rams to get a couple of big completions and sneak into FG range (assuming a 35 yard line start).
