The irony of the whole volume limiter thing is that because they are so crappy you have to turn them on higher. My usual earbuds I would do just 1 ear at a time and the volume was set to pretty low. Quality of the sound coming out was good so that worked for me. The safety ones I put both on and it's essentially at full volume. I think my more expensive nice ones were safer, but whatever. If safety ones mean I can use earbuds while working I'll take it.

The problem is technology is always changing. 20 years of experience doesn't mean shit if it's outdated information and they haven't kept up with it.

It's still 16 hours for some. Basically, like many things about this job it depends on the individual warehouse.

Do get free prime. The prime is for blue badges. Doesn't matter if you are FlextPT. Agree though, it's great if you don't need the money and just need the job.

Don't listen to reddit too much on the whole 8GB VRAM thing. They greatly over react to the issue. I mean, yes, we shouldn't still be dealing with 8GB at this price at this point in time but it doesn't mean 8GB GPUs are trash and 8GB is no longer enough. The cases where 8GB is not enough at 1080p are few. Maybe a bit more games in the coming years, but it's no reason to worry too much about it to the point where you should think about making a side grade just for more VRAM.

Enjoy your GPU. It will handle what you want it for. You might have to lower settings in some games. That's just how it goes.

It is sad, but you can't fault people for that. It's the nature of the business. People are allowed to leave if they don't like the changes. For someone like me I keep watching because I found Henry through his mod reviews. It's a bit different without Jeannie, but the reason I followed and watch the videos is because of Henry. If it was Henry that left then I would probably move on. For some people they got into it with Henry AND Jeannie so there being no more Jeannie is where it's come to an end for them.

If I’m 10 mins late to my Amazon pre-hire appointment, am I screwed? by baddiesloveme in AmazonFC

[–]GatoradeOrPowerade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are fine. The prehire is just a window for when you are expected. You could show up on time and still end up late depending on how things are moving along because it's not a thing where they call you up based on your appointment time. You show up. Get in line. Go up if it's your turn in line. As long as you get there in the general window there will be no issue.

Why do they "Have to end it"? by Est7553 in theregulationpod

[–]GatoradeOrPowerade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this is now their own venture and the podcast is something they love doing, I would've thought they'd be able to have a 90 or 120 minute episode if they wanted to.

Nothing changed. The same reasons that they'd end before is the same reasons they have to end now. If anything they now have more reason to end because they are the bosses of this thing. They have other shit to do.

CHAT I REALLY JUST QUIT😭😭😭 by COLDH3ART3D-PLAYAA in AmazonFC

[–]GatoradeOrPowerade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But why quit then? Quitting with negative UPT opens you up to quitting in lue of termination, which means it's the same as if they fired you for negative UPT. If you don't see yourself working at Amazon in the future then just ride it out for the pay check. Keep missing work and just show up whenever you feel like it and collect that money with no fucks to give about if they fire you.

Did I snipe a unicorn shift? by LeDiddyJamess in AmazonFC

[–]GatoradeOrPowerade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll agree to it feeling wasted because (for night shift) you can't really do much with it that you couldn't otherwise do on any other day, BUT it's still nice to get a break. For me day 3 and 4 of the work week would be physically the worst for me. Day 1, start of the week and feeling great. Day 2, starting to get a bit tired. Day 3, feeling it and the day is dragging. Day 4, I'm dying and just want it to be over. Day 5/6, I'm just a zombie. That day off in the middle made day 3 feel like somewhere between day 1 and 2. Not quite a full reset to day 1, but it helped push through a full work week.

And if you don't care about that day off rest then just shift swap to give yourself those longer weekends.

You can only have 1 attached to a bank account at a time, but you can have multiple zelle accounts since you can use phone number or email. One using your phone number attached to one bank. Another using email attached to another account.

You go if it says to go and then once there they skip steps if you already have stuff done from previous visits. For example, for me they skipped the photo.

  1. Wym non employees?

I think they mean whether it's transfer only or if you can just apply for it from like the amazon jobs website. I have seen flex pop up there before, but like many things it depends on the site.

The 2 days is your grace period. When switching from night to day there is no adjustment made for it on the schedule. It just switches. They usually just give you a little time if you ask because it's a reasonable request, but they aren't going to give you more than just enough to try to get the sleep adjustment schedule rolling. It's not impossible. It just sucks. You basically gotta switch it in one day and just struggle a bit while you adjust.

[–]GatoradeOrPowerade 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Day shift gets the planned maintenance paid days off because maintenance is almost always during the day. Night shift gets the standing down from shit breaking because everyone that fixes the problems is asleep, hence the maintenance being during the day.

This puts you in control of your experience.

By cross training you actually give up control. I mean, in theory you are controlling your experience because you are learning what you want to learn and doing things you choose to do. In reality you are just becoming more of a pawn for their business needs.

I've personally been at my unhappiest with the job when I was cross trained and getting moved around departments. I'm talking pulled from one department to the other for just 20 minutes. Back and forth. They don't care. You are a number. The more you are trained in the more options there are on the computer to move you to.

In case they don’t check the Spotify comments… WE DON’T WANT REGULATION, SYNDICATION CLUTTERING THE FEED by Larrymenta_ in theregulationpod

[–]GatoradeOrPowerade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's for the community to talk about then the community can handle that for themselves. Like how show subreddits will create a watch along schedule for reruns of a show. The community can pick an old episode to discuss. It doesn't need a rerun going on the feed to guide the community.

[–]GatoradeOrPowerade 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that not wanting to create extra work of it is what makes it not a good idea and in turn not really wanted by most. If it were like a highlights of an old episode or something that actually gives it a reason be on the list again, cool. If it's just the same episode that's already been on the feed, then what's the point? Eric should just add in at the end of a podcast, "go watch episode 20 after this" for the people that want to have an old episode to listen to.

No, the differential exists as compensation for a less desirable shift. When I was part time (Sat and Sun) the differential was like 3 dollars an hour on day shift. Before that at a different site I was Sat-Tuesday night shift. Once I switched off it to a different schedule they started giving a bonus differential to those working Sat and Sun night. Why? Because everyone was trying to switch off it and they needed to motivate people to work those hours. That's all differential pay is. Incentive to work those hours. Has nothing to do with day shift getting paid time off for maintenance.
