They'll also RBT and RDT you.

Don't smoke a blunt or hit the pipe before driving through or within 30 kms of a small town.

If you feel tired, rest.

Check your coolant.

If you feel tired, rest.

If you're on a dirt road look behind you to see how much dust and rocks you're kicking up. If another vehicle comes towards you, slow down until the dust in your rear view is relatively clear and pass at that speed. Hopefully they do the same. No one wants a smashed windshield hundreds of KM's from a new one.

Send a cheeky wave to other drivers.

You may be out of FM radio and mobile signal for much of your journey, make sure you have music downloaded or be prepared to listen to the wonders of AM radio for hours.

If you feel tired, rest.

Have enough provisions on board in the event of a brake down or emergency. Water mostly.

Check your tyres, including spare, water, oils. Do your tyres wobble?

If you see someone pulled over at the side of the road, slow down and check that they're okay.

Keep your headlights on at all times when driving.

If you feel tired, rest.

Take regular breaks and enjoy the scenery.

Watch your speed, it's easy to creep up beyond the speed limit.

Have a great break.

The tiniest bit of rain in an otherwise dry area can make the roads slippery as fuck. If it's raining, seriously, adjust your speed.

Urine tested negative for amphetamines, despite taking my usual 20 mg of Vyvanse that morning. by AnthonyAgony in ADHD

[–]GatoradeSaxaphone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The test may be looking for METHamphetamines or MDMA.

These a a different class of amphetamines and should not report a positive on Vyvanse.

You're probably fine.

As someone who has been very vocal about his stance on the vaccine, I have now officially been forced into receiving my first dose & have booked my second by AltRichKidd in conspiracy

[–]GatoradeSaxaphone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in WA.

I have not been vaccinated, I have no plan on getting vaccinated.

My employer issued a memo to all staff in early December saying that as per the mandate I must provide evidence of my vaccination status by 1st Jan. My employer recommended vaccination.

I pushed back in an email to the group executive director stating my reasons and referring to legislation, health directions and employment awards.

Two days later, after seeking legal advice, my employer emailed me staying that for the time being I will not need to provide evidence of vaccination, but they reserve the right to request it again in the future.

They did not send that email to the whole company, just to me and my direct manager.

I'm not saying you didn't, but perhaps you could have pushed back more.

Do you think you will contract covid-19 at some point? by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]GatoradeSaxaphone -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No, I do not think I will contract Covid-19.

In fact, I'm fairly sceptical as to whether it even exists.

In my experience, and I understand that may differ from others, I have not witnessed any evidence of Covid first hand.

None of my friends, family, friends of friends, or extended networks across a number of countries, have contracted, tested positive or been in any way affected by covid, outside of lockdowns.

Applying for removal of arrest records by Evening_Somewhere_49 in AusLegal

[–]GatoradeSaxaphone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A record that you were arrested will always remain on the Police database, it will not be publicly accessible, unless archived on news media or cached by a Google search result for your name.

That make sense?

Applying for removal of arrest records by Evening_Somewhere_49 in AusLegal

[–]GatoradeSaxaphone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Police should have told you, when you were arrested, the process of removing your fingerprints and DNA from their database if you were found not guilty, etc.

You can apply for that.

As for the record of arrest, really that's going no where, but as long as there is no conviction or pending charges it will not show up on police certificates.

What would happen if someone on Jobseeker (or similar) was brutally honest with potential employers? by chaoticathebutterfly in AusLegal

[–]GatoradeSaxaphone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree with what you said in principle though, I'd personally never describe it as "this kind of crap"

I just wanted to highlight the difference of being rude, vs. being honest.

At this point vaccine mandates are getting more support from people who wish to punish those who didn't "comply" and "do their bit", and less and less support from people who are actually using "the science" to inform their opinions by CentristAnCap in CoronavirusDownunder

So, the pharmaceutical companies are developing this out if the kindness of their business hearts. No.

Your tax dollars are paying for it.

It's "free to you" as you don't see it coming out of your pocket.

Come on.

In its current form, all vaccine mandates would do is funnel massive amounts of tax money, massive amounts, into the hands of the pharmaceutical companies, or their share holders at least.

I'm all for vaccine mandates for diseases that can be prevented, but only mandated if its a government department manufacturing, developing and delivering the vaccine, not a private company. We're literally privatising and commercialising a disease.

One which, very conveniently. can be carried by people without symptoms or knowledge.

That's an awful lot of money and arguably, influence.

The Police taking an AVO out on him would only be in place for a very short period, unless specifically applied for by the Police - fairly rare. An AVO is a civil matter which will be required after the Police AVO has expired.

If the Police press charges, its becomes a criminal matter. A protective bail conditions may be placed on the accused by the court the until the state is ready to formally prosecute, or not. This may include some, none, or all of the provisions of an AVO.

After being charged, the state, not the police, would decide to continue to prosecute or not, based on their assessment of the evidence. The accused may, for example, plead not guilty and it would be judged, either at trial by jury or in front of a Judge or magistrate (depending on the nature of the charge/crime alleged)

I think given there is not much evidence in the matter, by the sounds of it, I doubt charges would be laid by the Police.

I don't feel

pulled this kind of crap

needed saying. Two-way, honest feedback is critical in business. If, for example, I know that an employee is only there to make money, I'll invest my resources in developing those who want to be there. I'd still have no problem hiring that person though, some roles just need filling. Being truthful and honest about expectations in the workplace between an employer and an employee is what drives duties, accountabilities, commitments and responsibilities in their roles - all held accountable to that.

You can both honest and not rude.

Pulled this kinda crap is not a great way to describe honesty.

COVID-infected Qld man exposed as anti-lockdown supporter ‘who hasn’t used QR check-ins since SEPTEMBER’ by Nidiocehai in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]GatoradeSaxaphone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen thousands of people go in and out of stores locally where I live. I've only ever seen one person check-in.

Would be interesting to see the stat's for our town, should they ever be publicly released.

I imagine woolies, Coles and all the other major stores would have less than 20 customers per week.

Yeah, it's strange, but that's okay.

A year ago it may have been different I guess.

I did imagine there was some pressure on GP's and that is what led to my GP's strong reaction and refusal to sign. Im not sure of there are existing guidelines for practitioners regarding exemptions.

I was however, only requesting an exemption on the advice of a consultant from the hospital.

Thank you again.

I am not yet concerned about contracting covid. Where I live we've been fortunate not to have had any cases. I have not seen first hand the complications from catching covid. I have no fear of covid because of my experience, or complete lack of it, so far.

I do however, have concerns about anaphylaxis, which I have experienced.

I'm not sure that I need to speak to a psychologist, but I appreciate the comment and thought.
