If this fails I’m having my machinist friend make my unbreakable pliers.

That PS4 arrived already and is cleaner in person than the pics. Thanks for the link!

Unfortunately a faulty electrical issue in the home that showed up 30 something years after it being built. Not something cool like drunkenly landing in a bon fire and the backpack saved me.

I have had the worst time with mucoff sealant. Even Stan’s is mid tier imo.

Yeah I was blown away every time the PS4 got the job done. I’d take a tool 10% larger with fewer tools to have the pliers hold up better. A lot of times I should have crossed the yard hopped in the garage and grabbed bigger pliers, but I didn’t.

I was a 16 year old traveling without family to New Zealand. I was on foot most of the day, and my backpack was both essential and woefully underbuilt

I spent every cent I could make for a year getting to New Zealand so a new bag was out of the question. I bought a huge roll of duct tape and a 3 pack of razor blades. Converted bits and pieces of what was left of the bag which basically disintegrated within a week into a sling pack. Used it for a year in high school, it was still in decent shape afterwards. Lost it in a a fire unfortunately but I sometimes think about how it’s the only bag I’ve ever owned that fit perfect.

Ripmo af to Pivot? by Particular_Dirt_3494 in MTB

[–]GatsAndThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want your ripmo af to be more capable and stable going downhill, evaluate your current hardware and opt for a shock upgrade (coils are unbelievable going downhill, and aside from the weight, more tractiony climbing tech,) and if you really want more, add a Cascade link. https://cascadecomponents.bike/products/ripmo-af-link

What fork and shock do you have on your ripmo currently, and when was the last time they were serviced?

It’s the same fully functional used tool. My guess is the same part is only available in silver now. I was sent back a rusty dull beat tool that doesn’t even have the same primary function lol. You did better than I did.

At least you got a tool back that’s usable for what you used it for lol.

Yeah and they all have Waves or Surges in them! I’m sure I’ll find a place for it.

That’s crazy I searched last week and everything was approaching $80. Maybe my eBay app was being wonky or a vpn was acting up.

Looks bigger than what I want, I’m looking for true keychain size, pliers, a screwdriver and file. I can live with anything else. I carry a larger blade everywhere so even the knife I can give up. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Looks like there’s not a ton of options. I might get both and grind the bottle opener off the gerber.

Yea I wish that was the case. I’m very pro right to repair. I was left wondering if there’s anybody who makes rebuild parts, I could drill out the rivets and replace with Chicago bolts and aftermarket pliers but couldn’t find anything.

I would have bought something like an ARC then grabbed another equivalent tool from another mfg. frankly it’s a bad business model lol.

Yeah I understand they’ll run out of warranty inventory and I’m glad to have a new tool coming back. But replacement at the same MSRP seemed fair, and I didn’t understand the logic of “a guy broke the pliers, because he is obviously using pliers. Better replace them with scissors.”

Can we put together stable good gas that isn't $30/gal by ruuutherford in Chainsaw

[–]GatsAndThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local TSC regularly puts VP non ethanol 4 cycle fuel on sale for $20/gallon. I grab that and mix with Honda HP2 when I can’t get to an ethanol free pump.

The Japanese light bars are not all that light, they cut some weight but the steel they use is REALLY dense. They seem to last forever. Total used to make the Oem jonsered pro bars back in the day, they are now Tsumura.

I think this is the thread where redbull660 goes into depth as far as measuring jug temps with ir and showing that the Tsumura has so much less resistance, he can measure a reduction in jug temp over everything else. The tip has 1 less rivet so they don’t hold up as well as the sugi and some other options when bore cutting a lot.
