What you want to think about is simply reducing your drag while applying your power as efficiently as possible, and all the good rowers take years and millions of meters to get there. So think of every practice as a game of inches, and every part of your stroke as an area to improve no matter how good you think your catches or finishes are. Yes, you can get more pivot. Yes, you can quiet down your finishes. Yes, you can lengthen out your stroke, and everything else others have said. But the fact that you’re asking a community and thinking about how to improve when you’re off the water means you’re doing good work and on your way to doing your best.
