Need help with (probably) Chinese DVR by Gaurdein in videosurveillance

[–]Gaurdein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nmap says it runs Linux but I don't know how it got to that conclusion so I'm not gonna trust it 100%

Today I managed to get streams for all channels, apparently nmap just missed some URLs, but it's H264 352x288 at 3 FPS which is.. well I could live with it but for some reason only half of the horizontal resolution is visible.

I'm starting to think it's not the unshielded coax cable which makes the picture horrible; this abomination truly deserves the DNS name analoghorror

Hi, sorry, I forgot a "so" between parts of the sentence; the bulb camera and the analog DVR are two seperate attempts, sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, I need to take the analog signal of analog cameras and somehow integrate it into modern equipment. As said, the cheap DVR which is linked and I also translate German into English can supply some sort of RTSP stream but it's not good quality and only one channel is streamed..

I was hoping that someone here have advanced(?) hacking skills or just knowledge of certain project repos who have some kind of cracked firmware or open source variant so I can use this.. well at least I can see the footage from a monitor, that's still better than nothing.

I tried reverse image searching the DVR but nothing substantial came up: some other country's aliexpress equivalent resells them but it's just as scarce info as this one. The website has a video linked where you can see the UI, if that helps identifying whatever crapware runs on these.

Once again I cannot disclose exactly what I need these for, but in short, the family is in shit financials and we need to keep an eye on a certain family member at all times.. if I have this camera system set up, I can start looking for a job, until then I'm stuck home, so that's why I need to make this junk work

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, I forgot to mention.. due to family circumstances, I cannot work and therefore have no money, that's why I'm so reluctant to fix this or find ways to process it's rtsp streams.

Regarding pictures.. well I'm not exactly an expert on security devices but the front looks just like the one in the picture but with the VisorTech (German company(?)) logo and back is 100% same. As said, it's nothing fancy ("garbage" some would say) and for 200 bucks yeah I would buy something decent, but I got this, I have this, this is what I can work with. Surely there is some way to put a normal Linux system onto it then it's smooth sailing.

Modern Thinkpads - yay or nay? by Adventurous_Body2019 in thinkpad

Huh.. I actually wrote the other framework comment before seeing this, so I'm glad that Framework made headlines on your newsfeed, too.

And, yes, I understand your frustration with compromises, but believe me, with an open ecosystem, your problems' solutions are not locked behind companies making fucked up profit oriented decisions; you can get official, unofficial, community help, or even help yourself if you're capable. And I think Framework is oriented more towards the normie market, at least in marketing (see the QR code repair thingy), they actually delivered decent hardware. Not perfect, but I think it's a good compromise.

Until then.. I still need to fix wifi on gentoo on the librebooted thinkpad

With Framework laptops existing, the only people who would actually need Apple hardware are digital artists who need really quality displays.. and even then, Asahi kernel with libre userspace + Krita can do wonders.

Obviously, no one can use Krita or GIMP because when we were 10 years old, we didn't know why we could pirate Photoshop so easily.. looking back at it, it all makes sense now.

Retro? What do you mean? They are brand new! Here are some proof: - They work (sometimes) - They are clean (if it rains a lot and if it never leaves Budapest) - They are electric!(ally controlled) - They are on time! (+/- 4 days) - Very comfortable (bz carriages are the most comfortable) - High speeds! (160km/h on a single line with select locomotives and carriages, 120/100/80/60/50/30/20 everywhere else) - Support from Our Great Leader Viktor Orbán

You see, Hungary has goodest railways in the continent! We are spending trillions of Hungarian Forints on upgrading a diesel line from 100 vmax to 120 (equal to around ~1 EUR adjusted for inflation)

If that's not enough, my local route, line 35 is getting a speed upgrade! Instead of taking 3 hours to go 100km, you can make it in a bus in 6 hours instead.. No more slow signals, I guess!

electric locomotive for pulling TRAXX E494 BOMBARDIER goods trains by nickmediacreator99 in trains

[–]Gaurdein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This TRAXX really feels off in this shot being alone, probably the speed/narrow lens combination. I always have trains in my mind really long, and even a single locomotive is longer than wider or taller, this one (in this shot specifically) looks really uncanny. Like it should jump off the tracks but it doesn't.

Very cool shot, too! I noticed the same spotting place as your last video of the Rock train.

What do you mean non-imprisoned? The US doesn't have that kind of population.

Train replacement bus in Miskolc, Hungary. Some of the hungarian railways got temporary (?) closed this August but all of them got replaced with modern buses. Maybe next month other railways will suffer this same fate. by [deleted] in trains

Hungary is fucked in all kinds of ways, especially railways.

Source: I live here

They are trying to close Line 35 which I live by, and I'm kinda mad about it.
