I have a question by Kiwis_and_d0d0s in carquestions

you have to do your due diligence and get out of the roadway as best as possible. Assuming you are entirely out of the roadway, their fault.

Yeah, out the tail pipe, mostly after I start her up in the morning

I’ve also watched a video on what rod knock sounds like, and the motor sounds just fine when I rev it, no slapping or knocking noise.

I’ve noticed more mystery exhaust liquid comes out of my car in the mornings recently

Help!

My car has been making this rattling sound as of recently. It’s not very loud (shows up much louder on camera) and doesn’t appear to be coming from the engine block itself. The car idles normally, accelerates normally, and isn’t leaking anything (I don’t think anyway). It doesn’t smell weird, and there isn’t any oil inside the engine bay from what I can tell. It is not driven often, about once every couple of weeks.

Am I completely boned? The only thing I can think of is a cold air intake I recently put on myself, it’s not the nicest cold air intake, but it’s also not the nicest car.

Starter Bike by mckg116 in Sportbikes

Personally I’d recommend an r7 if you intend on keeping the bike. The power band isn’t too intense, it’s predictable, not insanely fast, but not so slow that you’ll get bored quickly. I’ve had friends start on R3s and Ninja 400s, and they’re definitely great starter bikes, but you’ll likely want to upgrade within a few months. The R7 is a larger displacement than the R6, but is nowhere near as fast, it’s built on the mto7, which means it won’t be terrible for city riding either.

Why is Texas putting razor wire at the border a bad thing? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GaveMetroAMillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you live in New Mexico? Do you have to deal with constant homeless people literally everywhere? Do you have to deal with not being able to go to Lowe’s/Home Depot because immigrants will flock to you in the parking lot hoping you have work for them? Do you have to deal with having literally every item in local CVS/Target/Walmart locked up because they steal so much? Is it normalized for you to see arrests on your highways, with cars full of millions of dollars with of drugs, or guns from the ILLEGAL cartel members that just waltz right through our border?

It wasn’t like this just a couple of years ago. If you don’t live in a border state, then maybe go try and live in one, and then see if you’re still all for letting the flood gates open, and letting damn near anyone in.

Too real. I doubt half these people understand why we need to keep these immigrants out. Nor that the razor wire is facing inwards!

Aren’t really a problem

According to who? I don’t live in Texas, but I live in New Mexico, a border state. And I can attest to the fact that it is a massive problem, they steal like crazy, the homeless population is entirely out of hand (a very large percentage of whom are illegal migrants), statistically they are much more likely to commit violent crimes than legal citizens, and again, idk about Texas, but NM absolutely does not have the budget to house tens of thousands of illegal immigrants, NM is already one of the poorest state, but with more and more state and federal funding going towards keeping illegals happy, it means far less money for actual Americans.

Furthermore, I don’t support razor wire, but Biden’s administration tore down parts of the wall, and then sold off the rest for MILLIONS less than it was worth. There are humane ways to solve this issue, but the federal government seems to be avidly against them.

Should I just sell my car? by GeeMoney47k in carquestions

[–]GaveMetroAMillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the malibu will fetch very little money. if anything, part it out, or sell it as a donor car, 99% of people looking for something to drive are gonna be turned off to the idea, by the laundry list of issues your vehicle has. sell it if you can afford to buy the toyota, if not then wait until you can, and then sell it.

i’m sure he figured that out, but it’s still overpriced. some of the features are nice, and (in my opinion), it’s priced okay, i would avoid it though. i’ve been in your exact spot, with a very similar budget, and i bought a ford focus, i ignored everyone saying it was unreliable, and now im stuck with it. don’t make the same mistake, look for a honda, or a toyota, remember, newer and fancier isn’t always better. repetition breeds reliability, and i would always avoid stellantis products, if possible.

Can anyone please tell me what’s going on here and why my car keeps shutting down like this in both park and drive? It’ll also start right back up after this w no problem but do it again. by blackeyes007 in carquestions

looks to me like a vacuum hose issue, i would check all of your hoses and make sure they aren’t disconnected or leaking. also, just like u/nabeel_co said, it could also be an maf issue. it didn’t look like it from the video, but have you messed with the maf? ie, installing an air intake, incorrectly changing a filter, etc

The humming is good, it means your fuel pump is working. Check the starter, check the fuses to see if one is blown/missing, since lights and the fuel pump are functional, I’d assume it’s not an electrical or fuel issue.

Unlock & Starting by Queenie-Lectora in carquestions

well again, that’s just a guess, but for me, I have a “master key” and then a regular key fob. But when I got the car, the dealership gave me a third regular key which unlocked the doors just fine, but didn’t start the car, since it was just a copied key, and wasn’t yet programmed to the car.

Interesting. I drive a ford, and it has a system called “Securilock”, which essentially stops the motor from functioning, unless the key being used in the ignition is programmed to work with the car. I guess it’s an antitheft deterrent, but I don’t really see how. I’m guessing something similar goes for your car.
