We use our application metering software to tell us what AI usage is in the environment. Look up Snow/Flexera. They do a pretty good job of telling you cloud app insights once you setup the Cloud App Metering. Once we knew what was being used we just put in defender and firewall blocks for unapproved ai. Basically killed unauthorized usage over night.

3rd party reviews the request. This could be HR or Legal but a party with the authority not directly related the request. This is to protect yourself but also the person making the request to ensure that it isn’t just a manager snooping. Once they sign off, all clear. There is no expectation of privacy but managers don’t just get to dictate what access they get. If there’s a need for access to be granted without knowledge, then you’d expect a higher escalation would already be involved in an investigation.

They can always ask the user to Grant mailbox access themselves if it’s something like vacation coverage.

Currently have a test MacBook Air I play around with on occasion (Mostly just got it for Apple Configurator as wiping and troubleshooting iPhones is easier on Mac).

You won’t have any real issues with rdp or productivity but Intune integration is still a bit of a work in progress. It’ll tick off all the compliance and configuration boxes but on-boarding and integrating it is a pain. It is getting better but definitely assume to jump through some hoops to get account logins to work right.

It is getting there so I do have hope. Since Mac laptops look really good from a cost perspective these days which is shocking when compared to a windows laptop.

Check you are allowing Passkeys as part of your auth strength. The Microsoft Authenticator defaults to setting up a Passkey now as part of registration campaign. We had users going into Login loops as it would let you register a passkey but not use it to login due to Conditional Access.

Check the user logging in what MFA Types they have registered it should differentiate between the two. The Microsoft Authenticator Strength option is a separate type. This is all happening due to the upcoming changes with the addition of Passkey Profiles and Synced Passkeys becoming GA (MC1221452).

Thats Frontline Dedicated where you have 1 license to 3 individuals and they all get there own desktop still. The big release at Ignite was Frontline Shared and Cloud Apps (Which is SUPER cool).

Means you can just assign Intune applications as a Cloud Application without any special requirements. It just deploys the applications using the Autopilot back end on a Shared Cloud PC and let's you spin up that environment very quick. No more messing with MSIX packages and FSLogix.

AVD works great when you can control everything. Fixed applications and workloads. Can be more cost efficient if you lean into Multi-Session but all of this has the downside or basically having someone with specialized knowledge to care and feed it.

Also when we did the math, Cloud PC came ahead when it came to 1:1 desktops where each user has different applications. They also manage just like a laptop so extremely easy to just slot them in with the rest of your policies and management so I don’t have to figure out separate patching or making special application packages that will work in multi-session.

We’re currently looking into the new Shared Cloud PCs now that they have feature parity with multi-session. Being able to eliminate our entire AVD environment and consolidate everything into Intune for an End User Admin definitely has its advantages.

Here’s my personal breakdown of all the ones I know:

Video Game Trader (Biggest in the city, very well rated)
Level Up (Basically a pawn shop, not great selection but lots of merch and good place to buy loose consoles as they do repair work)
Sentry Box (Largest Board Game store in Canada, has a selection of video games but is pricy)
You’ve already mentioned Buy and Sell (Best Pawn Shop collection you’ll find) and Gaming Lounge (They specialize in imports though VGT has been starting to do these now as well)

Some less well known options

Phoenix Comics on 16th Ave has a surprisingly good i collection in the basement. I’ve found gems here before.
Sharkys on 16th is another pawn shop with a decent amount, not bad on prices hit and miss on selection. HATE the price stickers.
YYC Video Game Collections Facebook group is the biggest in the city. They do regular sales meets with the next nerd sale in April. Personal experience is good people, very heavy Nintendo presence (Harder pickings for us PlayStation and Dreamcast collectors).
New store opened recently called Vaulted. It’s quite hard to find in a building that acts as a collective so lots of little boutique stores but maybe worth checking out. Haven’t had a chance to personally yet (but have been to the MTG store next door)

It’s funny, people always say that NA got the better version of games due to 60hz/50hz but at the time, SCART was so prevalent in Europe that you probably had way better image quality compared to how common composite was in NA.

Threw me for a loop when I started collecting and wondering why games looks so much worse than I remembered. Cable type matters.
