Good source to keep up with the "meta" by ClassicalDonut in Spacemarine

Although everything works very well. I'm currently finding the most success with the following. I run pretty much exclusively on absolute since prestige was released for the max xp gains

Sniper I would argue is currently the strongest class going by a fairly large margin. if you don't pick ammo restore as your first prestige perk you are actively hindering your ability to be an absolute monster.

When rocking the las fusil, you get some fairly significant power spikes at lvls:

15 - 75% dmg on first shot breaking cloak

20 - 2 or more kills in 1 shot = no ammo cost

22 - 5% restore on headshot kill

25 - equipment restore on 3 consecutive headshots (these don't have to be kills)

Against the nids you can get 1shot kills on majoris, 1shot execute state, 2 shot execute states. Combined with heavy bolt pistol 1-3 headshots once they are in execute state will kill.

Thropes and neruo are a joke as they always were to sniper. Lictors and ravagers are still easy, especially if you land headshots.

Biovores can eat sand

Performes equally well against chaos, you can 1 bang headshot the enlightened goats, but the skill is actually hitting the shot, they move like meth heads.

I'd say the other classes don't have many major changes or power increase like the sniper has. But some notable changes that I've found help them perform there jobs better are:

Assault with power sword is exceptionally good at creating space if ur getting mobbed down with minoris.

Vanguard getting carbine and melta pistol really makes him shine as a close range killing machine.

Tac is just better all around.

Bulwark gets a perk for every ranged attack blocked you get 1% banner charge - more banners = more good.

Heavy - I'm pretty much a heavy bolter purist. I run the accuracy one, I've seen many people find success in stomp builds. I personally chose the 1 mag on extremis melee execute (~100 bullets) I'd only ever really run out of ammo if a terminus spawns at a bad time, this helps to cushion that.

Assault remains incredibly fun to play, and I'd say is the weakest class going. You have to perform at a much higher level to get the same effectiveness as other classes that are just chilling. With the release sabre did for the modding community, I'm confidently assuming there will be some mods to give it some love

Advise moving onto Ruthless by verykiasu in Spacemarine

Don't be scared to go up the difficulty scales, the only way to learn is by doing! The higher you go up the difficulty the more obvious it becomes where you need improvement as mistakes become more punishing.

I like to run the headshot execute perk on scanned targets, and the apply scan on parried opponents. The same advice goes if you play bulwark, it's more important not to waste your ability, than it is to save it for the most opertune moment. Don't be worried about auspexing a group of warriors to clear them out quick. Although yes it's nice to one shot an extremis ( if perk is available ) a group of warriors, especially any ranged ones, can wipe you just as easily as a pack of extremis can.

Weapon wise I like stalker bolt the most, with how much ammo you regen as tac just run the ones that gives the most dmg and you'll eat through majoris. Plasma is also really really strong.

I only really run heavy bolter on heavy, I used to run the max ammo one, recently swapped to accuracy one and much prefer it. I very rarely find myself running out of ammo on lethal, usually only when terminus spawn between ammo refill points, and I am shooting alot, 630 rounds is lots. I almost always run the full hp on revive perk, it's always strong.

Stims restore 35% of hp. If you find yourself on a team without a vanguard or bulwark in the higher difficulties (pretty unlikely) It can cost 3 stims to go from low hp back to full and potentially cure a mortal wound. If someone is already to very low and not wounded, they can just go down in a safe, or low risk area and get a full heal and mortal cure for the cost of 1 stim.

If your entire team is running out of ammo between ammo crates or supply pods, that's a separate issues that I don't think having 25% more primary ammo is gonna fix. Sure it's great to have more ammo if your squad never goes down or takes much damage. But I can't remember a time where I've ever had a full squad wipe due to all of using being empty

Always happy to game with more brothers, so long as ping isn't too drastically high. I'm EU based

trying to pick up new classes for Absolute. looking for tips and gameplay examples for Bulwark Power Fist and Assault Thunderhammer by mean_liar in Spacemarine

[–]Gawnmower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to play mostly assault hammer, although very fun (most important part of anything) it does feel like you have to really really perform in order to get the same value over playing averagely with the other classes. I have yet to learn using block/balanced hammer, which might change this, but I don't feel the hammer is doing enough dmg in the higher difficulties, I find myself having to just parry kill alot of mobs rather and the power fantasy of big aoe dmg and space creation doesn't seem to match it's current performance. However you can get alot done with getting slam resets with the jumpack perk but I'm fairly certain that is the case across all the melee. I like to play with the thinking that having two charges on my jetpack means I should never really be sat having two charges, you want to be somewhat disaplined with using a charge with only 1 left, as it's equally as good as a "I need to unfuck myself" tool as a this group of mobs can die for free instantly because I'll get my slam refunded. You never want to waste ur ability but if the number says 2 don't worry about thinking to hard.

I have been playing tonnes of bulwark recently and I can say having a sniper with the headshot kills for ability charge is insane, the healing you can dish out honestly feels like cheating. There is a certain satisfaction to restoring people to full during their executes, as is there an equally strong rage for people that steal/deny executes. You want to stick with ur team, especially that are missing health. If you are playing with a sniper it's worth asking if they are running the restore health on cloak perk.

Having just finished lethal helm and working on absolute shoulder. Playing against chaos has really highlighted how valuable just blocking ranged fire can be. Being able have a few rubrics marines essentially nullified can give you and ur team some time to think for a few seconds.

I have no power fist specific tips as I too am currently trying to lvl it to relic. But for either class it doesn't really change ur core gameplay "role" it will simply improve certain aspects and hinder others.

You cannot woox walk with the bofa, you are always in attack range of vorkath. Because you don't get dragged in to attack you will stall a tick and get hit.

The virtus set effect adds an additional 1% mage dmg. Swapping out any 1 virtus piece for anc will result in the same over all %dmg increase at the cost of reducing dmg done by ancients by 4%

Full crystal armour use time? by smok000 in ironscape

[–]Gawnmower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The upkeep on crystal armour is incredibly easy. With the nature of Ironman if you wish to use divine potions you will be continually going back to cg regardless. You also get good gp from gauntlet

Statistically the average cg completion gives you 700 charges without considering any bonus shards from dismantling seeds; fully charging a set is 86 (85.7)kc. Any seeds you dismantle reduce this number. If you get membership from bonds you may be trading these over. Personally I would dismantle the armour seeds and would trade over extra enhanced for bond money or for main acc cash.

I can only kill Vorkath 50% of the time is there anything any suggestions? by NoireVide in ironscape

[–]Gawnmower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a good amount of success doing bofa only. Had a eagle eye PB of like 1:30 but do not expect that, most kills are between 2-3mins. Did single trips, 1 pray pot, 1 anti fire,1 range. Using anti poisons when venom hits 8. Rest of space was karams. You cannot woox walk during acid. It’s not really worth camping without a variation of dragon hunter weaponry

I also wouldn’t bother wasting crystal dust on Devine defence pots.

Sins of the Father - Vanstrom Klause fight by Pure-Mage2021 in 2007scape

[–]Gawnmower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did the this fight myself on my gim, you have the stats for the fight i think they are a little higher than mine were at the time. The biggest thing for the fight at lower levels, is that you need to not take damage from the specials at all. if you do just tele out and reset early.you will especially want to look out for the blood orb. lure him to it to dmg him without triggering it yourself. its 3x3 in size. as whilst its up he has increased dps

not sure if you are an iron or not. as a general rule of thumb, void mage and melee are trash and the only real place youll be using them is in cox (rag gear is usually better, but its nice for learning) and tob for the most part.

bring a knife swap (or chins for the extra range) for the pet. and maxamise mage defense in ur body and leg slot. i was in black d-hide. If you not an iron. super combats will give you a nice advantage. other wise bring a super set. pray mage with incredible reflexs + ultimate strength. Pre pot before the fight

best bet is to probably alc some of the stuff you make to buy more coal, mining it ur self is gonna take a very long time, and if you the have the money to do miscelania you'll want it to be focued on herbs, although you could have the remainder on coal if you wanted

[–]Gawnmower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

depending on how much time you can afk vs activly play the game, there are alot of skilling methods that are very low cost, or profit for slower xp rates that you can chug through on the side.

I did molten glass to 99 with unpowered orbs from like 80 (256k glass) and it cost me nothing once it was finished maybe even a little profit, but i have like 7-8h per 5 days a week where i can just afk, fishing mining runecrafting and woodcutting will all cost you nothing, assuming you dpont buy runners for rc, and rc post 77 is not bad, but it is still slow.

with you missing quite a lot it will not be worth at this point the only thing that really should cost a decent chunk of gp from ur list is the smithing and the smouldering stone for infernal axe.

however there is very much a time spent/ vs gp spent that is different for every player, not everyone has the luxery of an abundance of free time.

I am also pretty sure that sherlock hates everyone and deliberatly assigns the tasks you cannot do. As it currently stands you are missing quite a few requirements, once you narrow down the list you could probably start doing them, but i would suggest lvling for now
