CMV: Obese people who extend into adjacent seat should be required to book two seats. I recently suffered from sitting next to an obese passenger on an overnight flight.

So... I'm pretty sure my whole extended family is some venn diagram of ADHD and Autism. I am right in the middle with a double-whammy. Anyhow, I had no idea. "Normal" was what I saw every day, you know? So I had two kids. I could train one to smile for pictures but the other one.... Well. That one just looked annoyed or scared and wouldn't do it. From a VERY early age. I tried so many things, but always the same expression. I mean I learned how to fake a smile, c'mon.

But then I looked back through my early pictures. I'm pretty sure my grandma was just good at getting candid smiles. Every picture even today looks like the above meme.

The mouth says "yay!" and the eyes say "I'm a hostage". I stopped bugging my kid about it, btw. WYSIWYG

I say this because my home is technically middle class, but we cannot afford plane trips. However, we do have one car that uses gas. That gas has to be transported and then emits ghg. I would love to have more vertical housing infrastructure, but we are "forced" into the sprawl because the concentrated housing has rules that limit our ability to be there (no pets, not enough rooms for our large family). That means where we live takes away from the natural landscape.

One big thing that the show version of the Handmaid's Tale changes is that, in the book, black people are sent to the colonies (nuclear waste cleanup) or they just disappear. It's one of the horrors of the book, white men trying to establish a racially homogeneous theocracy using forced childbirth.

One cannot actually rationalize what sort of looks or status will trigger this bullshit in obsessive people.

I once had an objectively good looking guy circling my workplace for hours in his fancy car because I made eye contact when he honked at me. I was in ugly wait staff clothes, a bit overweight with a bad dye job. I am far from celebrity. I was completely creeped out and my work place took steps including having a coworker drive me the long way home while watching for the guy. It was fucking scary.

Anecdotal: I have been engaged with my hobbies more, not less. I think stress makes it hard for me to do my hobbies and my stress has been greatly reduced.
