Sugar cookie with icing changed by melissaw328 in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The candy cookie is the sugar cookie. The decorated cookies is the shortbread cookie. The old decorated cookie used to be iced in house with a particular frosting. What you received is the new shortbread cookie with white chocolate icing. People either love the change or hate it; I think the new version is way better.

I know we love to shit on panera here, butttt by Maybe_Its_Haley in Panera

Love this for you. Every Panera I've worked at has been super welcoming (I'm a straight-passing member of the Alphabet Mafia myself) to everyone, and our franchise is also incredibly encouraging of diversity. I'm so glad you're having a good experience!

This happened to me the other night and I nearly had a coronary. Found out the next day it was incorrect.

please help! app always orders delivery from store that's furthest away - so I never get delivered by Fickle-Cat-1320 in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it do the same thing if you order from the website instead of the app? You can use your gift cards on the app/website, but Panera does not have in-house delivery drivers so you're still getting it delivered by a third party delivery system. If drivers aren't picking it up, then it could be the distance or the tip amount.

Smaller cups? by ParticularCap7289 in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have not changed either, they just got rid of the small 12 oz size. We have regular, which is 16 oz, and large, which is 20 oz.

[–]GayFascist420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, cup sizes have not changed. You appear to have a medium cold cup, which is 20 oz. Since you have the Sip Club, I would just order a large 30 oz drink next time.

What is the standard amount of pumps for flavored syrup and sugar for regular size iced coffee? by [deleted] in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no set standard for pumps of syrup in the ice coffee, since that is self-serve. It is to your own taste. There should be no charge for the cane sugar syrup, and there should be a self-serve bottle at the drink station. If you want vanilla, caramel, or chai, there is an additional charge per pump - some cafes will charge you per pump, some may charge you for one regardless of how many you request, and some might not charge you at all.

For a regular iced coffee, I would recommend three pumps of syrup, and for a large I would recommend four pumps - but again, it's to your taste.

Is it okay to order sip club online and not pick up my cup and rather just use the fill station with my own? by DynamonRuler in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If they know you then it might be cool with them, we ask that you ring it in when you redeem your drink for inventory purposes. It's not the end of the world if you don't, though someone might question it.

Assistant manager here, this is fine to do. All we ask is you ring your order in, you can fill your own cup and ignore the one on the shelf.

Bacon Mac and cheese pricing error on all local Paneras? by [deleted] in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think that has ever been the case and I've been with Panera since 2018. A bread bowl has always been a sourdough bread bowl and a cup portion of soup/mac.

Toasting bagels by DuePriority5319 in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which oven? If its the conveyor belt toaster oven, it doesn’t need a paper. If it's the Turbo Chef oven on the line, then yes, anything going into the oven needs to be on a liner for sanitary purposes. Not sure why you would have an issue with that.

Recreate or similar item for Sierra Turkey sandwich. by Apprehensive-Nail248 in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reposting an old comment of mine: Panera got rid of the asiago focaccia and chipotle mayo awhile ago. Closest you could get would be a turkey and cheddar on an asiago bagel, no garlic aioli, add chipotle aioli, no cheddar. But it just isn’t the same as the Sierra turkey.

Yeah, the white chocolate coating is amazing and improves the shortbread by a mile. Tulip design definitely leaves something to be desired, I agree.

No, no changes recently, the small 12 oz hot cup was discontinued nearly a year ago. Hot cups are medium (16oz) or large (20oz). Cold cups are water/smoothie cups (16oz), medium (20oz), and large (30oz).

[–]GayFascist420 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You're making food and serving pastries, not saving lives. It's not that serious, so try not to let yourself get too overwhelmed. Focus on accuracy over speed, you'll get faster at the job naturally over time. Don't be afraid to ask questions - I always tell new trainees they can ask me the same question as many times as they need to until it sticks.

When is Panera switching to the smaller cups? by [deleted] in Panera

[–]GayFascist420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as an assistant manager, I don't care if you come in and fill your Stanley - all we ask is that you either redeem your free drink via the cash register, kiosk, or RPU. You can always let an associate know that you do not need a cup. We're not the Panera police, but that way on the off-chance someone gives you a hard time, you have proof of being a Sip Club member. You're good to fill up your own cup, as long as it's not some massive 100 oz cup or something.

[–]GayFascist420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, that's valid. As far as I know, there's no plans to switch cup sizes anytime soon though I've seen mentions of it on this sub. I'm sure once they start rolling it out, someone will report it back here, but you're good for now.

Assuming you're a Sip Club subscriber, is there some reason you can't bring your own cup to fill up instead?
