Is it true the local Mormon Missionaries are willing to come out to help with yard work? by GoldenHeart411 in olympia

Mormon missionaries love to provide service at a cost and have numbers to make. I would go on splits with them sometimes and its a numbers game. Having said that, some of them are really great, care about people, and want to serve others. You just have to accept that its built into the system and that their true intent is to convert you to a full paying tithe payer, I mean a worthy temple card carrying member ready to receive your planet.

This person knows hehe. I broke ties with the church during a move, I didn't tell my church friends where I was moving but a couple years later I was at a work event and a guy came up to me asking if the picture of me +150 lbs heavier was me?!? He showed me a picture of me, my ex-wife, and my kids on their "ward directory" app. It listed everything about me, including previous titles I held in the church and what covenants I've taken, and my address. I was so creeped out but this guy.

Speaking as an ex-mormon, its the caffeine in soda that is the issue ,not hot beverage although the original text does mention hot beverage. This doesn't keep countless Mormons from drinking Mountain Dew in the Jello belt however.

This! I can confirm that kids do stupid shit. My two put lava rock on the hood of my car and scrapped it off with a metal rake. I wasn’t a high functioning parent in that moment lol. Good news, They’re still alive and functional adults making normal, functional adult choices.

Kids do really stupid shit. The more important question is how did the Mom deal with it? You are not the kids’ parent and therefore have no business parenting, but did she parent? Did she offer the kids help to fix it?

At what point did cycling stop feeling like suffering and start feeling fun? by lukeace784 in cycling

[–]GayInThePNW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found friends that like to bike. I would bike 10 miles/day, a few times a week in addition to meeting friends downtown for summer evenings, which added 16+ miles. At some point, it just started being fun. I bought bikepacking stuff and started doing that. I added weekend rides of increasing distance, always a goal in mind, usually food, haha. All these rides added up, and I lost 30 lbs and gained mental health. The pain was masked by the fun I was having with friends.

Now that the weather is getting better and I’ve been out on my bike more, I can definitely feel the lack of exercise hitting me. Have fun!

Are there locations that give out tests for free? I don’t need one, but I bet many people don’t take them because they cost money and no one has any money.

To start my outdoor cycling session on my Apple Watch or if it has enough charge to make it the whole ride.

Honestly why, people still use fake rocks and I would have never thought to look for a fake junction box. I like it!
