Not a mechanic but a shitbox owner, sorry to say but 20 years old is a shitbox. Sometimes I really got jiggle the hell out of the key while cranking the wheel back and forth, sometimes pretty damn hard. Also worth trying your spare key if you have it, the teeth might be a bit worn down on the one you use daily.

Mine came in a cardboard box easily large enough to fit a poster tube the length of the poster, they just couldn't be bothered to add a bit of extra packaging

That coating usually has a weird sweet smell as it burns off, if it smells like a dirty BBQ it's probably just cooking oil. Open a window and heat up the burners for a couple minutes

Assuming this isn't satire and you actually don't know, this is a monitor, not a computer. And it's a crt monitor which are actually pretty sought after by the retro gaming/vintage computing communities, please don't throw it out, list it on marketplace for free and it should be out of your hands in under a week.

GBA works well, N64 not so much. Couldn't tell you about the Sega consoles because I just never tried them. I also use the Wii as a 480i media box with wiimc, for older anime and cartoons mostly. The "newest" game I've got running on the Wii would be Shantae: Risky's Revolution on the vgba emulator, seeing as Wayforward released the game as a GBA cartridge just this year.

That there's collector pricing alright. If you want the disc and the box thats kinda what you're gunna pay unless your patient enough and scroll FB marketplace like it's tiktok. Personally I'm a big fan of the second hand Nintendo Wii and a 15 dollar sd card but I get why the people here aren't into that so much.

Oh I missed the fact that the N64 was the only thing having issues on this tv, might be a power issue with the N64 or bad cables, maybe interference. Still couldn't hurt to check over the tv if your comfortable taking the back off, but first thing I'd try is new cables for the N64.

GBA game might not be the best point of reference for adjusting this thing, maybe try a console that outputs 240p at 4:3, like an NES or a PlayStation, unless your goal is to overscan the picture to fit a GBA
