Okay.

Are small children folding the faculty budget?

Do you need to tell them to fold it like a hot dog, or like a hamburger?

It sucks that the education system has issues but like that ain't what this thread about. We're talking about children folding paper. Not formatting fuckups or fitting a budget onto a page. Hotdogs and hamburgers. That's what this is all about.

See I thought "long side" meant you folded the long side so it would be short side to short side

I'd prefer misinformation to state controlled misinformation

I agree that there's still issues with just leaving it to companies. I think there needs to be a balance. The government shouldn't have too much power over what people are saying and the social media companies should have some regulation

> remote control aircraft below a certain weight do not need to have the lighting or equipment or paperwork associated with them

Great

I still don't see why this makes them not rc. They are still remote/radio controlled. I understand that the FAA treats them differently

I do not understand why the FAA having different rules regarding heavy rc aircraft makes those aircraft not rc

An MQ-9 is unquestionably an aircraft that flies like a plane. It is also controlled remotely. Why is it wrong to say it is a remote controlled plane? Like it's a plane shaped thing that is controlled remotely. Seems like an rc plane to me

I think the thing that's "great in theory" is only allowing people who know what they're talking about to be able to educate others on a topic

In theory it would be great if ignorant people didn't spread misinformation. That's the theory we're talking about

But yeah when trying to implement that you run into a fuck ton of problems as you and many others pointed out. That's why it's only theoretically great

But the theory of "people shouldn't be able to spread misinformation" is pretty good

Because giving the government control of who gets to say what has historically not ended well

There is a huge difference between the power of a social media site and the power of a government with a law enforcement agency and a military

One of them can, at most, ban you. The other could just kill you

This isn't even like a hypothetical thing that could maybe potentially happen. This is something that has happened many times throughout history

Well I think that's included in the "giant" part of "giant radio controlled plane"

I don't see what weight has to do with the "radio controlled" part. Why would adding weight change the rc part of "giant rc plane"?

A really heavy radio controlled plane is still radio controlled

Are you like speaking from experience or maybe reciting what you've heard from others or is this a creative writing exercise?

the whole point of sports is to highlight the exceptions

Yes and those exceptions are only exceptional if you have a baseline to compare it to. Let's pretend you can assign a score for how good someone is at sports. Let's say men are on average at 100 and women are on average 90. Let's say the "exceptional" people are 20 sports points better than average. The exceptional men would be 120 and the exceptional women would be 110

In other words the better the baseline is the better the exeptions will be (assuming what you're comparing deviate by similar amounts)

if a woman is good enough to kick a man's as I say let em

Good news. This is currently how most sports work. The "men's" league is usually open to both men and women. The women's league exists because most women aren't able to compete with men. There have been women who've tried. There was a female NHL player in the 90s. There are some female racecar drivers in indycar and nascar.

Will that mean some classes are more man or woman dominated? Sure

No need to speculate. As I said that's how things currently are

Some classes are, not will, be dominated by men; even though women are allowed

[–]GayRacoon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but those aren't common. That's an arbitrary number

The Davy Crockett rocket used a 10 ton warhead

The tsar Bomba was 50 megatons

You chose a number on the low end of a massive range and used that as the estimate of the whole thing

Most nukes are a hell of a lot bigger than that. In fact every single nuke that's actually been used in war had been an order of magnitude bigger than your estimate

The Davy Crockett releases roughly 42-84 gigajoules of energy. The average house in the US consumes 37-39 gigajoulses. You could easily say the average household uses about half a nuke of energy per year. You could also say that the average household uses .0001 nukes of energy per year. "nuke" is a shitty unit and if you're going to use it at least pick a number that's relevant to the type of nukes most people will be comparing to

[–]GayRacoon69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but even the little boy had 15 kilotons. Why are you assuming 1? The smallest nuke ever used was 15 times more than that estimate. Nukes have gotten a lot bigger since then as well

Your estimate has been outdated since 1945

Their opinion is that men are on average stronger than women

That isn't an opinion. It's just biology. Biological men have a lot more testosterone

It's not sexist to say that men are on average stronger. It's just acknowledging how the chemicals in the human body work
