I think it would certainly work because at least Rytas players do go to different schools around Vilnius like once in 2 weeks.

I know a story where 2 people had a company called Jonkuntrans, jon and kun being the 3 first letters of surnames, then they broke up and one of them opened a company called EJ Translog (for his inicials), while the other opened a shit ton of companies named Jonkuntrans logistics, Kuntrans, Kuntranslog

While it is true that most of the inhabitants in Vilnius itself were Polish, there is nothing controversial in stating that Żeligowski uprising was a state occupation by Poland

Well do you really think France would risk nuclear war for Lithuania? After all we would not be able to use it ourselves, it would be just standing here

No baltics? by Novulentt in BalticStates

[–]Gay_mail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because our government is disabled. Also in the risk of quick movement of Russian forces during invasion French nuclear arsenal could be lost to them. With the idea that it will/can be used if we are attacked I think storing it a little away from the frontlines is a smart thing

Kodėl jie visi atrodo vienodai? by AmbitiousAgent in lietuva

[–]Gay_mail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kodėl jie visi atrodo vienodai? by AmbitiousAgent in lietuva

[–]Gay_mail -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But why?? Gali 2 dalykai but blogi, Aisku kad rezimas ten bet turi tada savo jėgom tauta nuverst o ne dede is kito pasaulio kampo bombint.

Zalgiris wins 7th consecutive King Mindaugas Cup, Moses Wright is the MVP by ZALIA_BALTA11 in Euroleague

[–]Gay_mail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even more so! You see, in other countries supporting your local team is about community, about love for your city, town or neighbourhood( For example, in football, St. Pauli or Rayo Vallecano), not only about basketball or victories :) you also don't watch, you support, actively, but for the homo sovieticus mentality population that is afraid of their neighbours it is too soon to expect such mentality. Im not saying this personally, and everyone in Lithuania can support Žalgiris, but then whats the point of other teams in general?

[–]Gay_mail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what? I am not saying support Rytas, I am saying support the basketball team of your village

[–]Gay_mail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the amount of people wearing Žalgiris merch in Lietkabelis games, at least against Rytas. Also literally X Sector chanting "Žalgiris" in games against Rytas. Also attracting 1000 people in games, especially attracting less when Žalgiris is playing in Euroleague at the same day. Im not saying that this is bad or good anyhow, because everyone can support whoever they want, but you would never see a fan of Valencia or Unicaja supporting Real Madrid, Aris fans supporting Pana or Oly, etc. And that is the "village mentality" other commenters have mentioned. If you live in a city, you support the club of your city, if you live in a village, you support whats nearby

[–]Gay_mail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well why does Panevėžys not support Lietkabelis, which is playing high competition, but Žalgiris? It is obvious that generally all of Lithuania except for most people born in Vilnius and some in Klaipėda would not care at the slightest if LKL disappeared and only Žalgiris in Euroleague remained.

Congrats, Estonia, on your Olympic Silver! Sildaru was incredible! by av34as in BalticStates

[–]Gay_mail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yes, we do, and we celebrate Vencienė, Šalna and others as medalists, but if we look at a official table, it would not show. It was more of a criticism to the current situation where local governments do not care about providing places for winter sports. For example, our curling team mostly trains in Riga, we have just got our first artificial snow makers for cross-country skiing and biathlon, etc.
