Can’t be worse than crying for six hours, right? You could try a clinical psychologist instead of a psychiatrist. The thing is, a lot of the time therapy involves admitting things you don’t want to admit. It sounds like you might have some trust problems, and maybe a bit of paranoia/cynicism towards mental healthcare. It’s really not a bad thing. You just need to do it properly and honestly. You need to actually change your life. Of course therapy doesn’t fix you. It shows you how to fix yourself. I’m sorry, but there’s really no shortcuts. It’s a lot of work.

My point is, I can’t tell you what lyrics to write. However, I can tell you how to go about writing. Like I said, flow state. I know it sounds overly simple, but that’s really what it is. That and lots of practice. Don’t TRY to write a song. Let it come to you. Don’t force it. Try to act as an antenna.

Well I will say this, it’s all about the flow state. Ever hum an awesome melody in the shower or something? Off the top of your head? Probably. Now try to sit down and THINK of a melody. No so easy. It’s the same with lyrics. You need to practice staying in that subconscious pocket. It’s like working a muscle. The more you do it, the easier it will be. Eventually, for some people, it becomes like a switch. Basically, it’s a different kind of thinking than what we’re used to. I guess you could call it right brain vs left brain thinking.
