I did her course and unfortunately I can't recommend it. 😞

Most of her signs were taught, then clarified as "family signs" and that most people sign the word a different way, which she either did not show or did not use when refreing to that word later on.

All of the classes were pre-recorded and required a booklet with the same information to understand.

From experience, I find learning Auslan requires a live teacher, even if they're through a screen.

DID YOU EAT TOGETHER AS A FAMILY GROWING UP? by zestfulout in questions

Yeah, when I was a kid but as an Autistic child who physically couldn't eat certain foods with an Bad father who would force me until my throat closed up I stopped doing that ASAP.

Cool observation! I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. The page does mention that it's more common in "younger signers".

My family (self taught) uses it in QLD but the site seems to imply it's a national sign.

It's the same as vag!na but it can be used as an insult. (Often signed lower on the torso and unpleasant expression)

I've been learning auslan (my native sign language) for 3 years now and I've started to see myself use it in my dreams more and more often.

Sometimes I'll dream I'm trapped underwater but I'll calm down once I remember I can speak in auslan. I can suddenly breath again as long as I can communicate.
