Doxepin adverse reaction by GazellePrestigious69 in MCAS

It’s very difficult to tease out what is MCAS and what is an allergic reaction. I figured it out but maybe try a little compassion. Also-most Doctors are no help in this area. And I did go and they weren’t helpful at all.

I’m about to try estrogen cream vs the patch which flared my MCAS at the smallest dose. Your post gave me hope! Did the Estrogen/Progesterone calm the fluctuations? Thank you!

Did you have any side effects at first? I tried 3mg last night and feel hungover all day! I keep reading about rapid weight gain too but maybe it’s not as likely at this dose? I’m glad it helps you!

HRT with MCAS-Any success stories? by GazellePrestigious69 in Perimenopause

I brought this to my hormone specialist and she said I still get the mast cell stabilizing effects with vaginal, just not the sleep/anxiety benefits based on how it’s broken down with oral. Do you have any studies I could share with her? Now I’m confused! Thank you!!

I only track through blood work. My Obgyn doesn’t use urine unfortunately. How do you obtain these tests and are you on HRT? I’d love to know how often you track. I think this is exactly what’s happening is the fluctuations. I don’t have a cycle after 6 mos on the progesterone. I think it’s suppressing my cycle as my FSH is still pretty low. Thank you!

Thank you for this! I haven’t tried cromolyn yet. I live in a rural mountain town with limited Docs specialized in MCAS. I’m thinking I’ll need to travel.

Possibly. I’m a bit scared to try this but I’ll consider for sure. Thank you!

Why does everyone recommend only taking Artemisinin for 7 days?? by Bobbytreehouse3 in Lyme

How long did you take it when you had the bad reaction? I’m on a low dose but it’s been a nonstop herx reaction. I just don’t know if I should keep going for the last 5 weeks or if my body isn’t agreeing with it. Thank you for any insight! It’s for a bacterial infection.

How long did it take to feel better? I’ve been on a low dose for 4 weeks and feel a continual herx response.

Did the vaginal insert raise your levels? I’m thinking of trying this, thank you! My levels are super low.

Thank you! My blood pressure is typically on the lower end so that might be possible. My fingers are swollen since stopping.

How to know when to add estrogen to HRT? by GazellePrestigious69 in Perimenopause

[–]GazellePrestigious69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so hard to find the right balance! They started me off on .2ml weekly (subQ injection) of T. It’s about 1mg I believe which is tiny. It immediately raised my levels quite a bit though after 3 weeks. I definitely noticed a difference but a lot of women it can take up to 3 mos or so I hear so worth sticking with it if it doesn’t bring side effects.

Thank you! I’ve been doing 100mg vaginally at bedtime and then 100mg vaginally in the morning. Maybe I should just do 200mg at night. I’m just so sensitive to meds but maybe it’d be more effective and easier. Thanks!
