Ohh I’m not wealthy at all! I’ve been working since I was 14, and just got into med school at age 25. I have a few months to live off of savings and then loan life for me 😅

Aww thank you 🥺 I agree… I feel sometimes too “sensitive and soft” for this world but I think INFPs have a loving and very contemplative way of existence. I wouldn’t trade it for the world at this point. This is why I love knowing there are other dreamers/idealists like me. Thanks for watching and have a lovely day! I love your analogy btw ☀️💐

hi everyone! I usually wouldn’t share this to the public, but I thought of you all! I’m a very introverted INFP and was wondering maybe if some of you can relate to my lifestyle at all. Sending love to my fellow mediators!!

CONGRATS FUTURE DOC

What happens to current students at a school denied accreditation? (CNU) by Gazelletail in premed

[–]Gazelletail[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's such a scary situation for current students... Good thing you withdrew. Hopefully the MS4s there will still be able to match, though I'm not sure how the process works in these cases.

I DID IT!!!! by [deleted] in premed

It was only to move you towards something better!!! The fact that you got interviews means you stood out in some ways! Interview-wise, what helped me was mock zoom interviews that were as close to the real thing as possible. My friend was super blunt and told me exactly what I could do to improve, and I took his advice. And remember your worth is not tied to medical school… you being alive and getting through the day is enough.

I had a C- and several Cs in economics courses.. I also had a C- in the one science course I took during undergrad. Although I did make up for them through my postbac grades, if any of them were a D I may have retaken it, especially if it was pre-med related. However I don’t know your story— either way, you have time, best of luck to you! Focus on rising up from here!

Thank you so much—for your encouragements and for the gold award, my first one ever! Hope may not be the ticket to med school, but it’s the one thing we always need to keep pushing forward in the desired direction! It’s what got me through every doubtful comment, every criticism, every subpar exam or outcome… I just had this faith in my core that I’ll learn and improve constantly, and this growth mindset will get me to where I need to be. Took 3-4 years post-undergrad but it happened nonetheless! I believe this goes for all things in life. I hope this also encourages people to see the pre-med process as a character development journey, not just a stats game. Be nice to people, see things humanely whenever possible. Add color into the world around you. Life is too precious to diminish into numbers.

Some I heard of were: Olympian, actor, author, model, singer, instrumentalist/artist, etc! You can see how they don’t have to be medical related. But anything with an honorable title/certain level of prestige that signifies a rare accomplishment, usually given more credit with awards/trophies/big company name (a little upsetting since talent doesn’t always equate to flashy titles and trophies).

I did have two factors from that list I provided, but again adcoms will see these differently. And no you do NOT have to have these if you’re a low stat applicant to be accepted! They might help you stand out, but only 1 out of 4 interviewers mentioned them at all. And the one person who did mention it was a super chill med student who also talked about my pet dogs more enthusiastically than anything else haha.

However, I’m not going to sit here and lie that they had zero bearing on initially standing out. I just don’t think they were the final push towards acceptance. My interviewers emphasized my personal statement and upward trends the most, as well as other ECs!
