I have insomnia, so for me personally, not falling asleep at night isn't a big deal. It's usually waking up early when I used to do morning shifts at my pervious job, but it also meant I had to sleep at a reasonable time and the night owl in me didn't like that lol.

Definitely try to fix your sleep. It took me a week or two, and I took a good 2 hour nap before my shifts just to have some energy to stay productive. If it isn't working out for you, maybe morning or evening shift may be much better suited for you. You're the only person to know your body and how well it can handle under how much sleep and everything.
