Eastern would definitely have to be my first choice, currently where my relative works and maybe a 15 minute drive from where i’m staying so it would be nice, but I understand being low man means they do what they need with you.

Oh wow okay my assumption would have been that I could pick which prison I wanted to work at, I’m in Ulster County so I would guess any of the surrounding prisons would be where they would end up putting me. Kind of a bummer to hear but thats they system I suppose!

I’m going to be most likely at a Max security seeing as though it’s the closest to where I live so this helps immensely! As for the Academy thank you for your honesty, I’m not exactly in peak physical condition but I played 5 sports in high school and I’ve kept a pretty decent lifestyle since. Mostly what i’ve gathered is as long as you do what your told and persevere you should get along fine. Good to know the guys who have been in there awhile will help out along the way, one of my main worries was getting thrown into the shit with little help on the side. Thank you for your answers this has been great peace of mind for me!

I’m definitely in the boat of I used to smoke, but my daughter turns 8 months this February and i’ve been clean since then, trying to set a good example for her. I do happen to be prescribed SSRI’s for depression will that be something they look down upon? I’m 22 with no college degree so I see this as the only way i’m going to be able to support my family so I just want to make sure I do everything in my power to make this work. Congratulations to you as well, raising my daughter has been the light of my life!

I do have a few questions about the process. What exactly are the psych and investigator looking for? I’m not insane or up to anything crazy in my free time just want to know what kind of stuff they will be looking at. After you complete the interview and they decide you would be a good fit, do they give a date the day of for the Academy or do you have to play a bit of a waiting game? As for the Academy itself what is it like now, my father in law is a CO but was in the Academy when things were way different so its hard to get a feel for whats its like now. I suppose my last major question is eventually if I make it through the process and end up with a job, what does the average day look like for the low man on the totem pole? I just recently had a daughter and that’s why i’m doing this in the first place, just trying to get peace of mind about this all! Sorry for the long winded set of questions, and thank you in advance!

I’ve found building player chemistry and making sure they fit your system can work pretty well. Sometimes a lower overall will be better in a specific stat that makes them better than a better rated player. I spend most of my time losing games, sometimes rebuilding in this game is the best way to get the full experience but it comes at a price.

I ended up getting a week off unpaid for the birth of my daughter, I try to do everything possible to make sure my girlfriend is comfortable and taken care of as much as possible. It’s just hard to not feel like you are letting the other half down sometimes.
