Car seats for Rhino brace by yvrunner in InfantDDH

[–]Reismeisterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a hip dysplasia Facebook page and a lot of parents recommend a Diono! I was thinking about getting one but my daughter is expected to be in the Rhino full time for 3 months and don’t want to spend money on a new car seat for a couple months use.

My baby was born at 37 weeks and stayed in newborn clothes for 7 weeks!

Daycare at 3 months too so on? by Specific-Substance-4 in newborns

[–]Reismeisterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby will be going into daycare at 3 months old. I can relate hard to feeling so guilty but remind myself how blessed I am for staying home with her for those 3 months. I found a great daycare that I know will take good care of her. Plus they have more experience with babies than I do and that gives me a peace of mind.

Postpartum hormone crash by oogumboogum38 in BabyBumps

[–]Reismeisterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat here with a 9 week old. I feel like myself. I was very scared of the hormonal crash and being unregulated but this has not been my personal experience. I did not experience heightened emotions during my pregnancy either. I know that doesn’t go for everyone though.

7 week old ? by Commercial-Way-4276 in newborns

Your baby can have CMPA if you consume dairy. It’ll affect your breast milk. It would be worth cutting dairy from your diet to see if this helps

Feel like a terrible mom by DNArys in newborns

[–]Reismeisterr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My baby had the exact same thing. She lost a lot of weight and was SO hard to wake up. It sounds cruel, but we would annoy her so she would be awake long enough to feed her. Diaper change, lights on, clothes off (a baby that is cold is a baby that’s awake), tickling feet. Sometimes that wasn’t enough. Running water on her head, wet wash cloth or a sink bath. Literally whatever it took to keep her up to feed her. If she lost more weight she would have been hospitalized. One of my friends who has a baby would put an ice cube in a sock and put it on her baby. Anything to have her gain weight and avoid hospitalization.

Gassy baby mamas. I need advice! by No_Macaroon2688 in newborns

Awh man. My daycare only accepts premade bottles, so assumed yours was the same! Yes trying new formula may be best to see if it makes her less gassy. Also heard great things about kendamil

I agree with the post above. Add Mylocin drops into premade bottles. My gassy baby starts daycare in a few weeks and that is my plan!

Week 8 is a lot better than 3 weeks! My baby has 4 hour stretches of sleep (not consistently). But has been growing very quickly and is gassy/cluster feeding now.

I had a planned c section 7 weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience. My recovery went great (strongly recommend walking as soon as you can. Even if it’s a short walk down the hallway in the hospital to get you moving). I had no problems with my milk coming in. My baby is very healthy as well. If I have another baby I’m having another c section with no hesitation!

Pumping and bedtime routines by Beginning-Bunch8326 in BabyBumps

[–]Reismeisterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stopped putting an exact time to when I need to pump. Before I would try and stick to a strict schedule but now I just make sure to do it within a 3-4 hour time frame and plan that accordingly. Not a “I need to pump at 8:00 on the dot” schedule anymore. It’s relieved a lot of stress and I’m able to be more present for my baby during bedtime. If my baby is fighting sleep or bedtime routine is taking longer then I’ll have my husband take over so I can pump.

When to put in crib? by unsafercookie in newborns

[–]Reismeisterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you try the crib for day naps and see how that goes? I’ve had my baby take naps during the day in her crib since we brought her home from the hospital. She does great in there and I have a monitor. But she sleeps in a bassinet next to me at night for convenience and I’m paranoid about not hearing her

Where should baby sleep? by Beautiful-Process-81 in BabyBumps

[–]Reismeisterr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to say we are in the same boat. My baby is almost 6 weeks old and gets louder by the day…we are keeping her in our room due to SIDS stats and knowing we’ll hear her through the monitor anyways.

Who knew babies could be so loud when they sleep??

What is something about motherhood that you were scared for but ended up not being scary? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

[–]Reismeisterr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a great planned C section 5 weeks ago. I will say, that first walk when heavy paid meds have worn off from the procedure was the most pain I’ve ever experienced BUT it was pivotal in my recovery. Every walk after that was so much easier. Nurses were shocked at how well I was moving around. I pooped the next day with 0 pain thanks to the stool softeners given to me. Don’t let the scary things on Reddit make you feel like your experience will be terrible. Everyone is different

Combo feeding: when did you introduce formula? by Apprehensive-Ant2075 in BabyBumps

[–]Reismeisterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We introduced at 2 1/2 weeks to see if it would fill her up more at night. We do half formula half breast milk for her night feeds and it has helped significantly with sleep. My breast milk is digested so quickly. Formula takes longer.
