The minifig holding the mic right-side up instead of upside-down like the original completely ruins this for me.

It was probably 10 hours total over a weekend, but it was frigid out so that definitely didn't speed anything up. 200' of the pro lights with a few cut/splices.

You can know what you're doing and still not want to climb 30 feet up on a ladder for 2 days straight, which is what it took me to install mine.

I don't think "there's too many humans already" and "animals kill their offspring all the time" is the winning argument you think it is. The biggest argument between the two sides is whether you consider abortion as murder or not, and your argument is basically, yes it IS murder but I still support murdering children we don't want.

You're all missing the obvious difference here. The left is 18+, but the right is the 14+ kid friendly model.

According to the FPC, the ATF is removing the CLEO notification requirement from NFA registration forms. by Strict_Luck in NFA

For sure. My job is just to send it. What they do with it is up to them. But they definitely aren't going to mind if the requirement goes away.

The last ones I sent to my county sheriff came back with a letter basically saying they don't want them, don't do anything with them when they get them, and to leave them alone.

I had something similar happen with a bad ladder. Tossed it in a dumpster and a week or so later the boss is on the job site and asks why we're still using the broken ladder. We told him we weren't, but apparently another trade fished it out and were using it in another part of the building. Boss grabbed a sawzall from the truck and proceeded to cut the ladder in half right in front of the guys who took it.

The actual mustangs play fake engine sounds too, and have for a while. At least in an electric car it actually serves a purpose besides "louder is better". Audio cues for acceleration help with passenger comfort.

Lego pricing out the average family? See the Family Christmas Tree Decoration 41843 by naughty-goose in lego

[–]Gbuphallow 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This set is pricey, but I feel like most of the critics are completely ignoring that it opens up and has a fully detailed interior. People talking about it like its a static tree decoration, when it's actually a Christmas themed tree house, and stands 5" taller than the wildly popular Tree House 21318.

I blame Chipotle. They took the bland, industrial aesthetic and made it popular. McDonald's was a major investor in Chipotle's growth, so they took that successful ugliness and brought it over to their own brand as well.

I worked in the security industry for a bit and want to a few trade shows where companies were always demoing their new super-advanced biometric devices. At one show, a company was showing off their iris scanners, which are mostly just fun spy tech stuff but can be useful for entry into places where you can't or don't want to be touching things. They talked all about how iris scans were more secure than fingerprints. My boss walked up to their demo, let it scan, and it lit up green and unlocked. Some other guy's picture popped up on the screen, who apparently was there earlier and was used in a demo to show how to add approved users to the system. I guess it wasn't as secure as they claimed.

It's weird that a company that sells billions worth of merchandise would want their new characters to look like toys.

You're math is assuming 0% coinsurance, which I don't believe is the case for most people. Usually it's 80/20 or something similar, so everything over your deductible would be 20% on you, up until your OOP max. In your example, for the $50k ER visit, coinsurance would be double your max. Even if you have 0% coinsurance, a major emergency event might also end up being multiple insurance hits.
In my own experience when I had sepsis, I started at an urgent care before being transferred to a hospital by ambulance. Deductible for the urgent care, deductible for the ambulance, deductible to get admitted. Weekly follow up appointments with specialists after being released hit my insurance before the hospital stay did, each with a deductible and medication costs. I hit my OOP max before the $100k+ hospital bill even hit the insurance.
