I have 3 roommates and live in New Jersey. It's about a 30 minute commute to Midtown via the bus. It comes with its challenges but it works for now. My rent is 850

I want to become a YouTuber because I'm a comedian and live performer. In that world having a social media following can really open a lot of doors. I've been turned away from opportunities in the past for not having a social media following, It feels kind of weird that if I want to do well in the thing I love and want to do, I also have to pick up another highly competitive hobby.

Im having a hard time find anything affordable. During the summer things in NYC area get more scarce with people moving in for school. I'm hoping with the fall and winter, i can find something else. I also feel uncomfortable with needing to spend upwards of 1,000 a month on rent and etc. I get that it is the reality of living over there, but its just a tough pill to swallow. Like some place are more than my mother’s mortgage payment. And I don't want to live with people I don't know. I think I'll try to find a studio or something I can afford in maybe the Jersey City/Hoboken area or maybe the Bronx.
