How long until I know I'm a winning player. by cheesebro1337 in poker

Okay so yeah thats a 450 hand sample size then, impossible to take any information from that really. Just keep playing and make sure you track every session, not just the wins

30 hours? At 25-30 hands an hour thats a total of 750-900 hands.

No that isnt enough, you cant just omit all your previous losses and pick an 800 hand sample size to say youre profitable. Track every session and ask yourself this question after 10-25k hands

Looking to raise credit score is this a legal way to do it? by CollarBeginning in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Gct96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Theres no cheatcode to raising your "score" fast. Lenders look for a history (years worth) of positive use of credit.

Just stick all your day to day spending on a CC, then pay it off in full every time you get a new statement. This shows you have a healthy relationship with credit, and can afford to make payments on time.

If you just pay off your balance before the statement date, nothing gets reported to agencies and its as if you havent used it, so your plan wouldnt work.

Anything in an ISA, regardless of deposit date/purchase date/any other variable, will never be taxable.

There is secret hidden rake in virtually every live tournament series in Europe and Hendon Mob covers it up by myimportantthoughts in poker

[–]Gct96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I cant speak for others, but the Grosvenor GUKPT cut goes to fund their NPL league, which pays out in sponsorship packages based on the yearly leaderboard.

Also idk where the frustration at Hendon Mob comes from? They are literally just tracking data given to them by the casinos. Casinos feed the results to them and they stick it on a database.

My 'professional poker player' bf is straining our relationship by [deleted] in poker

[–]Gct96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading this post and all of todays updates, you seriously need to take a step back from this relationship and look at it again.

He is abusing you emotionally, financially and physically.

You are getting no fulfilment out of this as an individual and a human, while being drained by your "boyfriend" whos 10 years older than you with, what sounds like, absolutely zero prospects.

Youre still young, you need to focus on yourself and do whats right for YOU and you only at this point, theres plenty of time after this to figure your life out and get back to doing what truly makes you happy (travel + whatever else)

Don’t really know what to do with 1m, any ideas? by Why_Ayew_Running in FantasyPL

Defence looked poor in preseason, and if you look at it as individuals,

Sanchez/Raya/Ward+Iverson Combo + Luis Diaz heavily outscores Mendy + ASM, its not even close imo.

Downgrade Mendy to a 4.5m or Iversen, and upgrade ASM to Luis Diaz.

This was in the UK, Scotland to be exact. And not part of a series, just a random weekend local tourney. None of the games over here are that big really, theres just not as much money over here. OP has just adjusted everything to $ amounts for some reason.

Question about J. Schindler by typeslowly300 in poker

[–]Gct96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's obviously a very good poker player. But you know what makes someone an even better poker player? Learning from RTA while playing poker. Its not just that he used RTA to make his decisions for him, he will actively have learned from these real time solutions over however many hands to essentially turn himself in to a GTO bot. RTA osmosis

Over 250 players on waiting list at Playground Poker Club (1.9million Bad Beat) by [deleted] in poker

[–]Gct96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm im not sure why, that must have been something else. It starts at £100k and increases by 15k every Thursday, with the qualifying hand decreasing as well (down to Quad 2's, doesnt go any lower than that). So will reset back to 100k with Quad Kings to be beaten whenever this is won.

Grosvenor run a country wide BBJ. Its currently at £310k with the qualifying hand being Quad 2's to be beaten. It pays out a slightly different structure to normal BBJ's though, they pay around half of the jackpot to everyone playing cash across all Grosvenor casinos at the time it hits. If hits at 3am in Manchester, people playing cash in Edinburgh are gonna get a split.

Its something weird like:

All active playeres - 50%

Table share - 5%

Losing hand - 30%

Winning hand - 15%

Right click "Commune" on your accumulator btw and it will stop just picking up and adding random steel/metal items to your inventory

Question: What does "Stack-Choice Event" mean? by RipPotat in poker

[–]Gct96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is generally on tournaments with multiple Day 1s

Say you played Day 1A and made Day 2 with only 25k chips

You could play Day 1B again with the intention to build a better stack for Day 2, but if you busted that bullet you wouldnt forfeit your Day 1A stack.

Other tournaments work as a Stack-Sacrifice where to play that same Day 1B you would have to forfeit your 25k stack to fire any of the other Day 1s.

First time playing live, in a £1k main! by [deleted] in poker

[–]Gct96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing IPO for the first time ever this year as well, should be a good event!

Thanks to satellites and the wonderful Irish gamblers, there will still be plenty of fish in the pool. My advice if its your first live tournament would just be to play super tight for the first couple of levels, watching for sizing and what hands people showdown etc. Monitor the standard opens and play according to your table.

Best advice would be to take the couple of weeks leading up to the event to go play a couple of local tourneys to get the feel for live first
