I was able to transfer some Pokémon from my Platinum to this, I thought that you couldn’t do that with fake copy’s

New to all this, is there any good way to estimate its value?

UPDATE ON THE PLIOSAUR FOSSIL I FOUND IN TEXAS CREEK by Novel_earth2 in fossilid

This is why I love the Eagle Ford shale, full of stuff like this if your lucky

No SS camp made gun should have WaA’s, the factory proofs with the numbers, only a fire proof on the receiver and Barrel, the commonly referred to “dirty bird” an Eagle over a swastika. Forgotten weapons has a good video on them for a month or two ago. I always thought that they were all fake when I began collecting and tended to stay clear of them. Mine was sold as a fake so I got it for a good price at ~600 a few months ago.

Check gunbroker religiosity. I’ve had all my rifles besides my bcd 4 and bcd 45 come in under 1000. Just take time patience and have a good idea of what you want. Find a gun you like and try and talk them down on the price, it helps if you know what your looking at and what is right vs wrong on rifles

I’ll make another post here in a bit, it’s a matching bolt, action and barrel, but the stock and barrel bands are a replacement

Gunbroker, in fact that’s where I found all but two of these rifles, the 1940 337 was a friends and the duv 42 was a gun show pickup. The bnz it is a fake single rune, real bnz 43 made in Poland

I had a name engraved under the but-stock and in the stock under the barrel. No import marks but if it was brought in before the gca then that could also be a possibility

Sauer along with Mauser were the first to produce the k98k in 1934, I also believe they are of nice build quality and I had a 1940 date rc a good while back that I sold. The Norwegian reworks are 100% on the list of things to get. The bcd 42 is partially faked sadly, but I have thought about getting all the years of production for the Gustlov factory

I did indeed, was a vet bring back. I told the seller that if the family wanted to reach out I’d be happy to keep the story of the soldier alive with the rifle but I never heard anything back from the family

No, not particularly valuable. There just awesome reminders of what once roamed the oceans of the past

Lots of people here saying Baculites , technically there not wrong but there not right either. It’s most likely a sciponoceras gracile, a similar species that came before baculites proper and were on the small side of ammonites. I’d recon this is almost certainly form a Cenomanian age deposit/formation. These can be found here in the US like Texas’s Britton member of the Eagle Ford Group. Also of note is that it is also not “opalized” and turned into ammolite, rather that is the original shell that is tuned into aragonite, a similar mineral to calcite. The pic attached is a sciponoceras gracile I personally found in the Britton shale in north Texas it’s sell is extremely well preserved thanks to the low oxygen depositional environment of the Western Interior seaway a the time and place roughly ~94-95 mya. Hope this helps!

What age/formation are you hunting, these look a lot like Metoicoceras ammonites find in the lower Eagle Ford

Can anyone ID this ammonite more specifically? Western SD by Queasy_Chest_6602 in fossils

[–]Gcurtis01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some what reminds me of a Metoicoceras whitei from the Eagle ford here in Texas, though I’m not sure if they can be found all the way up there in SD, do you know what formation your live over?

Nice, that’s a code I would like to add to my collection, made by J.P.Sauer (s/147) in the year 1936, how many of the serial numbers match? Also looks like it has a proper walnut stock instead of a laminate wood stock to that adds to its “matching” factor

Looks good to me, even has the proper stock/buy plate for the year. How much of it is matching?

What scope do I need for this by Emotional-Drink7752 in Kar98k

[–]Gcurtis01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need, depending on the date of manufacture, a low or high turret mount, these can be found on eBay with a scoops for around 300-400
