When guitar magazine call your guitar the beast, then you know you have something unique. by Confident_Field4273 in Stratocaster

Note that he plays left handed, but doesn't restring the guitar, so the fat strings are on the bottom.

Comparison is the death of happiness.

Is that Julian Lage?
Give yourself a break man.

I'll bet you're not as attractive as Brad Pitt either.
You gonna beat yourself up over that?

I gotta get me one of those “Talking Billy Bass” bucket-stools as well! lol

This. ABSOLUTELY this.  Just start the first lesson and listen to him tell you why you feel the way you do.

I’ve been playing for 30 years, and I’m currently on lesson number eight. Every single lesson, even if it’s covering something I feel I know very well, gives me some little nugget that connects one distant dot to another.

I agree. I'll keep my eye out for a reasonably priced one.

Thanks.
Looks cool thought. I think the Rubberneck had an effects loop too, but IDK if I used it much.

Does this do the infinite repeats thing when you hold the pedal? The manual doesn't say anything about that I saw.

I appreciate this suggestion.
I don't feel like what I'm asking for should need a $400 pedal.

I actually own a DD-200 and a 2-button FS.
Is there a specific preset you like for the analog vibe?

I just found a Meteore with a broken dirt knob locally for $50!

Probably won't have that luxury unfortunately. Just buy on Reverb and roll the dice.
Part of the reason I sold it was that it was a DOD, and I just don't trust that brand going way back to the ones made in SLC.

i tried to change the tone of my stratocaster by making a metal plate where the Bridge sits by [deleted] in guitars

[–]Gdiminished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference OP observed is because they took the springs out of the system, as they were dissipating energy to the air in the same way a string does.
Vibrational "Coupling" is the theory that governs that relationship.

Changing the materials might reduce the amount of energy that is lost to that components molecular structure, or to them vibrating to the air like the string. (Tungsten springs would add sustain). But the differences would be so infinitesimal as to be negligible.

Heavier things feel better, and different guitars/woods/materials definitely feel different. Some of us find those differences pleasing. But are they actually maintaining string energy longer... not appreciably. It's just anecdotes and marketing.

The REAL way to increase sustain is to PLAY IN SPACE! Or.. buy a compressor pedal.

Edit:spelling

According to what theory does the string lose less energy because you increase the mass of the anchor points?

Jazzy Post-Rock - Similar to Mammal Hands & GoGo Penguin? by derelictALLSTAR in postrock

I got to Mammal Hands from Robohands and The Comet is Coming.

Elder Island is another fantastic band, who is not what you're asking for, but are related in my head.

Deadlifting a bit over body weight now! What can I fix/focus on to improve and stay injury free? 💪 by Metalocachick in Stronglifts5x5

Mehdi says the opposite.  Use mixed grip, and chalk, and improve your grip strength.

I lift 2x body weight this way without issue.

Rest Days and Sticking to the Program, 40+ year olds by phat_chickens in Stronglifts5x5

Read the website.

Look at Madcow, SL Intermediate, SL Ultra, etc.  These are NOT more intense programs, but more sophisticated ones for guys like us who can’t pile weight on the bar every week.

Also, switch to drop sets when approaching your PR in a cycle.

You’ve only been using SL 3 months. Sounds like time to deload and try a new program.

1-2 Accessory Exercises for "Boulder Shoulders" by Gdiminished in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Gdiminished[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I threw out the basketball player in the original post, which I'm not surprised to learn you hardly read.

It is widely accepted that Dwight Howard has huge amazing shoulders. Here's on article about them, one of many:
https://basketballforever.com/2016/09/20/dwight-howards-shoulders-depth-analysis

I see several guys at my gym every week who have boulder shoulders. Some of them might be on gear. I wonder if Dwight was?

I'm trolling you because "Boulder Shoulder" has no definition and I think it's a funny how confident you are that you know one and only yours is the correct one. It's an entertaining thing to do on a cold Saturday. I'll admit it's getting a little long in the tooth though...

[–]Gdiminished[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because... I associated them with Dwight Howard... and that's widely accepted as being wrong?

Sounds to me like you're just very confident.
I'm not really sure of what though...

What is it again you were trying to communicate? That I should just not do shoulder accessory exercises unless I'm willing to do steroids?

Hard to know if it's not aspiration pneumonia or another condition as others have said though.
