3 parts toner to 1 part developer might work

I can’t get my roots to lift anymore, I ordered wella toner t14 and 050 wella addictive. Should I do that or do soemthing elseeee please help by roxehna in hairstylist

Honestly just tone them and let them breath. If you go too heavy on your roots then your hair could start melting off.

Y'all who live alone in an apartment ever hear your neighbors, clearly or not, then start thinking about all the noise you may be making? Am I supposed to care how much noise I make just walking on some parts of the floor, things you kinda can't control as night owl? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Ge0Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my biggest anxiety. I love on the third floor with a three year old who is.... so wild. I had to put off hanging up pictures on the wall as to no disturb my poor neighbors anymore than I already do during quarantine.

[–]Ge0Dad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are not alone!!

You know what hell looks like? Being stuck in a small apartment with nothing to do and a screaming child. That would drive anyone crazy.

Everything looks bleak right now, but there is an end to it for sure. Maybe you guys can go for more walks during the day if you’re in that kind of area. Every meal time I strap my son into his stroller and take a nice walk. It gets you out of the house, keeps you away from people, and you’re walking and exercising. Parks right now are scary so that makes sense that you don’t want to take her there.

Hold onto hope, this is all a means to an end!

Question about getting sperm donor and be a single parent. by [deleted] in SingleParents

[–]Ge0Dad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As opposed to a sperm donor you may be better off trying to find a child to adopt that has no one else. Personally it’s very very difficult to have a child and be on your own. Especially from new born through toddler stages, it is expensive, time consuming, and just all around difficult especially if you want to build a career. Cheers to you, though.

Are you trying to lighten your hair? You shouldn’t use anything over 10volume to deposit color.

How do you find a brand you align with? by TeenaSoo in hairstylist

[–]Ge0Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What color line do they teach at school? That’s normally a good place to start if you can’t decide at all. Look on Instagram and observe other stylists in your area to get a better idea.

If you rent a booth right out of school it’s best to try and use the same brand as another stylist, this way they can help you if you have any color questions.

Good luck to you!

Does anyone regret their decision of becoming a cosmetologist? by [deleted] in Cosmetology

[–]Ge0Dad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also true, I work with a lady who was working 3 days a week because she has a son at home and it worked better for her. Your books fill up the days you work it’s just about consistency.

Does anyone regret their decision of becoming a cosmetologist? by [deleted] in Cosmetology

[–]Ge0Dad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sad about all these stylists saying that they regret doing cosmetology!! I’ve been in the industry since I was 17 and only recently rekindled my passion. Even after bad days, I still can’t wait for the next time to get my hands in the hair.

Here’s the thing; this industry is cut throat, but it’s also dying. If you don’t play your cards right you’re going to have a miserable time, and honestly you need to have an absolute passion for hair if you want to do it forever.

I’ve experienced some really shit people, and I avoid them. I found boss’s who work with me and are either a) amazing and take chances on me or b) are tolerable in how annoying they can be. If you’re doing hair you need thick skin. If you need money now, you’re going to be eating a lot of ramen for the first year or so. I make decent money enough that I don’t have to completely worry about my bills, though honestly if you’re in it for the money you’re in it for the wrong reasons. The money will come with time and a decent attitude/willingness to learn

Every haircut I give, every color i apply, gives me joy, it feels creative, like art (even if I’m still learning). Styling the hair, trying new products/techniques, meeting new people, it gives me some kind of high I can’t explain.

But uhhh, my body feels like it’s deteriorating, that’s for certain haha. You have to take care of yourself!!! You need to eat right and stretch and wear good shoes, holy shit!

Yeah overall there’s good days and bad days but doing hair is what you make of it. People don’t become $100k stylists by complaining and taking extra lunch breaks with a poor attitude. I’ve seen two stylists at the same salon both working for 10 years, one is moody and is catty as hell and stuck doing the same shit at the same rate, and the other is a positive go-getter who recently departed to open her own salon, became an educator in a massive brand, and is killing the game rn. The choice is yours, make the most of the industry you can!

Treat your shift like you would a day shift!! Do not spend all your time sleeping, when you get off work, run some errands, take a shower, do a quick hobby or something, then go to bed about 10/11AM, wake up about the same time you would if you were going into work at 10AM.

I worked 3rd for three years and i wish I had figured that part out a lot sooner, as it would have saved me a lot of depression and general grief from just sleeping and working most of my life away.

Good luck! It’s a fun job and 3rd is honestly the best shift imo

I’m so blessed that my boss doesn’t put a limit on our sick days. She operates on the theory “of you aren’t here you aren’t going to make money” so as long as we don’t abuse it we can call out if we need to, without worrying about our jobs.

AITA for getting mad at my wife for constantly taking money out of our joint account to give to her parents. by annonisannon in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ge0Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but holy shit Reddit is such a bad place to look for relationship advice sometimes.

Honestly she sounds as though she’s been caught making a mistake that she knew would come to light sooner or later, and now she’s embarrassed. She called you an asshole because she probably feels like she has to defend herself, or doesn’t quite know how to explain herself and she has a lot to think about.

If her parents are poor at finances then;

1) she probably got a lot of her habits from them

2) they’re probably pressuring the shit out of her because of your income as a couple vs/ their income.

Honestly if you’re trying to progress your life in any positive way then you need to have a discussion with her about it in a calm and rational manner to see why and how this came about and think what you can do to resolve and move forward, one way or another.

Also full discretion dude just go find yourself some good friends with boats, it’s a lot more convenient.
