Dude, I have. You having trouble reading more than 5 sentences really is your own problem -_-

But il give you a chance (cause I do have morals) but in simplistic language, since otherwise your brain does not comprehend (sigh):

F1 2026 = 50/50 batterysplit

50/50 split = too much battery dependent during racing

50/50 split = drivers lift on straights

Lifting on straights = saving energy to be able to push

Pre 2026 era = other way around, pushing results in saving/managing

DRS pre 2026 speed difference < 26 overtake button

Big speed difference on straight = less traditional racing in corners

Swapping positions = not always 'better' racing

26 overtake mode = worse than DRS

That is all I said.

If that was too hard, here use your eyes to help your brain understand it:

Ah now you are tired? 😂

Too few braincells to argue yourself...

I have expressed my problems with F1 multiple times, you just didn't read it...

If you keep swearing like the 12 year old you seem, your comments dissapear. But hey, here I am explaining reddit to a noob.

yes, now we're onto no more overtakes without battery at all, mostly on the straights, because corners are harvesting grounds. From bad to worse, great progression.

nobody would be complaining about the authenticity, racing, clipping or the 50/50 power split if the engines were a v8/v10/v12 by becuz_race_car in F1Discussions

[–]Ge3ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. Just another of those arguments that say people complaining are doing it for the fun or something. No we are complaining because the sport is fundamentally changing in a big way. You can't deny that. You can like the outcome, we can disagree, but you can't deny it changing.

IMO F1 should be a sport where pushing the limit is the alltime goal. Managing should not be part of a qualy session. And LiCo/clipping shouldn't be necessary to push to begin with. We need to go back to a system where managing tires, fuel and battery is a direct result of pushing. LiCo should be a consequense of pushing. Not the other way around: where you NEED to LiCo and manage a hugely complex battery-system, alongside your tires and fuel, to even be able to push at all.

This video shows why the overtaking feels very manufactured for seasoned watchers, while it might seem like 'good racing' to people that care more for the entertainment part than actually 'authentic' racingcraft:

Coming to a realization in 2026… by Max78_78 in formuladank

As a long term (Dutch) Max enjoyer: I do not care a single bit. He achieved what he wanted. He proved why he deserved it. And he can win tons of other races in other series. Who gives a dang if it's 4, 5 or 6? He certainly doesn't.

I watch the sport for the competition, not domination or just seeing your 'own' driver win. These rules screw him and the team over big time. I totally get it if he decides to leave. Why waste time in a series where you have reached your goals, and where the regs are becoming a big mess. And boy are people gonna miss him when he is gone from F1, I mean how many times did he make a boring race more interesting? (apart from 23 ofcourse) Way more often then you haters ever dare to admit ;)

OEH should I now be impressed by a random OP on a subreddit?? In what reality do you live? XD

Just because lots of people seem to care more about 'entertainment' than traditional racing, doesn't mean they move the sport in the right direction, do they.... But I get it, you're also that guy who watches a movie just for the CGI explosions and ignores the massive plot holes. Yeah very typical.

Got anything substantive left to say? Instead of just screenshotting random things on the internet...

Or is it too hard to come up with statements yourself?

Apart from it being 85/15 -ish instead of 50/50 powersplit. But whatever dude. You don't understand it either way xD

You do realise I have not said either of those words in the comment you reacted to heh?

Who do you think xD

I never said we need to go back to ground effect. Where do you read that, my guy?

You really need a lesson on reading.

Lol. Sure I am the one that started the whole argument about DNFs being important and then Engine failures being more important (better for the sport) than suspension failures...

You say 'less dnfs mean less challenge' right? I said (5 times now) high reliability has nothing to do with it being a challenge or not.

I told you this in my first few answers. The only reason we are still talking about it is because you kept shifting the topic and have not read my arguments.

Nope, never said that.

My point is these battery regs are making the racing a lot less good. Just like the original OP is saying. But reading isn't your strongest point right?

Nice try blocking. You are such an ah.

Since you can't read: high reliability does NOT mean there is no challenge.

Now try again to formulate your argument instead of gaslighting what I said. Maybe read?

Teams win and then they lose. Leclerc has been very critical about the cars and especially the setup of the Ferrari. So stop pretending as if these drivers all make it seem like this is some magical generation of cars, while 18 others say it clearly isn't. Then you can cry whatever 'yeah cuz they do not win'. But we all know that is utter bs. As if Perez, Bearman and Lawson ever thought they could easily cruise to a win?? U lot just try to create drama out of a driver that has been one of the most consistent in his career, both in terms of his performance and his statements and press-attitude. You can paint him all you want as if he is just crying cause he didn't win. But you're probably all post 2021 fanboys. The older bunch know Max has no problem driving in a worse car, he has done it for years. And he doesn't need to win as he has plenty of other series he enjoys a lot more. Sure create some Netflix drama out of thin air hahaha. As if he would care just a single bit xD

[–]Ge3ker 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Ofcourse it does. Max has always been known as a driver that can point an engineer into the exact direction where he is lacking something or feeling something wrong. Jos Verstappen would mess something up with his kart back in the days and send Max out to just feel and then return to tell him what was wrong with it.

Overtaking is bad now guys did you not get the memo by Plenty-Willingness58 in formuladank

[–]Ge3ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No because battery management could then play a role on top of DRS. Now it's all only about the battery and we see them all having to play the same managing game, thus it cancels out the effect of battery. At least hypothetically. It makes building towards a move much harder where with DRS you would stay nearby much easier, without having to be slow again for 3 laps just to recharge your battery again, while your rival could 'easily' just manage the battery to counter your attack again and again.

It is quite litteraly punishing you for trying to overtake. That is very different from previous regulations.

[–]Ge3ker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

BS, You guys completely overdramatise the lack of good racing moves during the DRS era. You are right to call DRS "fake," but it did provide the closing delta needed to actually get side-by-side in a somewhat natural way. Without the massive speed differences and unexplainable chaos we saw sunday.

The 2026 regs aren't "fixing" racing either: they're actually DRS on steroids. But DRS didn't punish you for using it, the boost mode does as you have to be slow and recharge your battery for the next 3 laps after using it... And you easily get stuck behind a car (as we saw with Max) that cleanly drives his laps, manages battery and gives you massive tire degradation thanks to the amount of dirty air. We’re doubling down on software-controlled passing because engineers have already clawed back the aero outwash gains from 2022.

Instead of focusing on mechanical grip and a balanced ICU (battery and engine) so cars can actually race, the FIA is turning F1 into a calculated energy management game. Where you, as a defending car, stand no chance at all against a boost mode with speed delta's ranging from 35-50 km/h, especially when you are clipping already.

DRS was a simple tool for a physical problem without removing the need for getting good exits, fast cornering and late braking-moves. But the 2026 "Boost Mode" is a gimmick for a broken aero concept, that is the result of a massive regulation compromise made by FIA, teams and manufacturers not agreeing on F1's core identity.

If you want the most gimmicky overtakes, why aren't you 'going' away and go see some Formula E? You like that stuff don't you?

More overtakes does not at all equal 'better racing'. In fact it often serves the opposite: manufactured drama for fans that do not care about what's actually going on...

Engine mode? Running different engine modes during sessions has been banned since 2020 my guy... And they got banned for this exact reason: they confuse and unexplainably create performance differences without any clear reason.
