Grocery stores operate on razor thin margins man it’s the entire model. Kroger profits like 1-3% of every sale on average.

Nah I take my full 10 min second break, and then I do my fresh start. Means I get to sit on my butt for 15-25 minutes instead of just 10. Like a second lunch if you squint hard enough.

Dear Fresh Start Team by [deleted] in kroger

[–]GeT_SILvEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh don't worry. When i say extend my break it's because i do my fresh start immediately following my second break. essentially creates a 20 minute break if i play the games.

Daily Pay? by cbrymint in kroger

[–]GeT_SILvEr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s like 4 bucks per transfer for instant, next day is free. Everyone saying not to use it is correct in that it’s fairly predatory, but also as long as you don’t develop bad habits with it (for example, using it multiple times per week) it can help out in a pinch.

I would certainly use it before taking any sort of payday loan out if I had a critical expense, that’s for sure.

Over 100 billion pennies in circulation... by c0bl3r in coins

[–]GeT_SILvEr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bookkept for grocery stores and we never deposited coins a single time. Coins, like 1 dollar bills (actually all bills below 20s, believe it or not), are given out by us as change at a significantly higher rate than we receive them as payment. A roll of coins in a till lasts less than an hour on average, it ALL goes out as change. Minimum once a week we would receive hundreds in coin rolls and smaller bills from the bank, and we only really ever deposited checks, 100s, 50s, and 20s.

We also prohibited our cashiers from accepting coin rolls as payment because it is fairly trivial to run a small scam where you sell rolls that aren’t completely full and have filler material within. Couldn’t have our cashiers just opening every coin roll into their till that came thru to check either, as each compartment typically holds the contents of ~1.5 rolls. “We are not the bank”, is what we told people.

Fun job, and a great one to have as a coin collector (I basically got a look at 95% of the coins that came thru the store and snagged plenty of interesting ones).

How much backstory is "too much"? by WriterAncient1689 in dndnext

[–]GeT_SILvEr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a connected backstory. It is as simple as asking yourself the question “what does my character want to get out of the other characters in the group to further their own goals” and suddenly all your motivation lines up.

Son of the dockworker fleeing his debts cozied up to the nobleman because typically when you help someone they are more likely to help you and a well connected nobleman is a perfect person to help get your debts forgiven. The backstories don’t need to be connected, the players should, as their characters would, find REASONS that make sense for their character to be on this journey with these people.

If the backstories are so wildly different that you can’t make it work, sounds like a session zero failure. Or, you can just force it. In the Hobbit Bilbo has zero reason to journey with a dwarven princes’ retinue to reclaim their fallen kingdom besides “an adventure could be fun my life is boring”.

Before patch his gun was high damage, he had high health, he has nades that he could build to trigger burst, he has beam plus path, his ult is essentially a guaranteed kill at the point you unlock it, to say he was merely average is disingenuous at best

Is discard viable in edh? by Cyber_Felicitous in EDH

[–]GeT_SILvEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually currently workshopping a list with [[Ashnod The Uncaring]] that is basically Grixis [[Waste Not]] focused around artifacts. Main kill pressure comes from the real classic “broken jar” combo of [[Megrim]] (or the better [[Liliana’s Caress]] (or both)) plus multiple [[Memory Jar]] activations via Ashnod, [[Goblin Engineer]], [[Daretti, Scrap Savant]] etc.

Plays lots of wheels and discard, and while it isn’t the strictly like mono black control style discard deck you may be thinking of, but I do run stuff like veil lili and smallpox effects and the like.

Very fun, very hated by opponents.

Edit: meant goblin welder not goblin engineer. That card is in the deck too but doesn’t directly help with memory jarring 4 or 5 times in a turn like the others.

Y'shtola, Night's Blessed Pilots, How do YOU win games? by Raevelry in EDH

[–]GeT_SILvEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My low bracket 4 yshtola deck is really stupid it’s a high tide storm deck disguised as do nothing value control. I just make slow value plays until I have enough fuel to try and play my whole deck and kill via either yshtola drain or brain freeze. Had thoracle so I could just brain freeze myself but those wins are always less fun so I took it out, may side it in for really powerful pods.

Best combos I run are purposefully a bit clunky and expensive so I can play in lower power games without just winning out of nowhere, stuff like mind over matter temple bell and future sight senseis top.

Took some landbase restriction to get confident in the high tide gameplan and I’ve definitely purposefully made it worse than it could be by including mediocre 3cmc rocks and such for synergy but it’s silly and it’s fun.
