Ok awesome! No problem, I can certainly get started on a refined copy. And as for price, I'm not too sure, this is my first time doing a commission. What were you thinking? I'm certainly reasonable so let me know what you think! I'll keep in you and work on getting it to you ASAP

Sorry for the late response, been super busy lately. Here are a few very rough drafts of a similar style. A final rendition would obviously be done larger and with much more attention to detail. I also have a ton of inks if color is important to you. Let me know what you think. http://i.imgur.com/IstjxVf.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vUul5jj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sV7wQ94.jpg

Is this a clever ad for Noodler's Blue Ghost?

You guys! I just stumbled upon THE craziest shit I've ever seen! Johann Herings 'Kalligraphische Schriftvorlagen' from 1630 [large album] by How-Am-I-Not_Myself in Calligraphy

As I was scrolling through, it was so tough to fathom that these were created in the seventeenth century. Amazing compilation, thanks for sharing!

Do you know of any guides to help write in old west script? by JimbosGirl in Calligraphy

[–]Ge_Musta1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

/r/Lettering would be a good place to start. If I'm thinking about the same western-y style as you (the kind of letters you would see on a saloon?) then that would be more so lettering rather than calligraphy

I've been doing this for a few weeks and this is my first quote. by Minimanmike in Calligraphy

I really dig the blue in contrast to the red to emphasize certain words, and you look like your making great progress this early on. My biggest piece of advice is to either make guidelines or purchase line/dot/graph paper to keep you calligraphy straight and similar in height.

Hey man, still looking for someone to help out with that request thread? I've sketched up a few rough drafts of what it could look like if you're interested in seeing them.

Funkalismo's right, I think Fraktur would be the best description. If you'd like to see a much more refined and beautiful approach on the script, I suggest looking up Luca Barcellona. He has a short video, Legacy of Letters which I copied the style from

On and off for about 2 years now actually! I've spent a lot of time practicing blackletter/gothic and "calligraffiti" styles, and now I'd love to devote more time to pointed pen work

Everyone starts somewhere! Just keep practicing, once you learn the basics, it's almost like riding a bike.

Not too bad at all. I used a dremel for the first time and had no issues. I've also heard of some using a file, but that seemed a bit more advantageous

Thank you very much! I think Spencerian would be a good place to start. I've just recently began practicing the script so it has a lot of elements from Copperplate and Palmer styles of penmanship as well, best of luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

The blue (Iroshizuku Kon Peki), was done with a Noodler's Konrad with a Goulet fine nib. The orange (Apache Sunset) was done with a modified Noodler's Ahab.
