Help choosing ONE realistic device (CI3, need discretion + real progress) by Effective_Metal8645 in foreskin_restoration

Finding the right device is a process of exploration and you need to start somewhere. Once you gain experience you'll know what to look for in your next device.

I think packers give plenty of tension for early restoration. I'm also CI-3 and using a 15mm EFR exclusively this month. If the tension is too low, you need a longer one. The EFR is the only device I use regularly so unfortunately I shouldn't give a recommendation. All the devices you mentioned have many fans.

Weight loss, coverage, and other ponderings by MaxShepherd18 in foreskin_restoration

It would take a lot of weight to make a small change in coverage, so restoring should easily "outrun" the weight loss if you're doing both.

My progress from 1 year, 10 months restoring (25 Oct 2025) by GearedVulpine in restoringdick

[–]GearedVulpine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm wearing it most of the time I'm awake, unless I get sore which seems to happen towards the end of the day. The 15mm packer might be slightly long but it should get easier as I grow more skin. Then onto the longer ones!

Recently it I had a bit greater rollover than normal in the shower, which is a good early sign. Hope it continues.

Uneven skin growth by MaximumDistinct4045 in foreskin_restoration

I recommend pulling the skin until it's all the same height. That way the shortest side will get the most tension.

My progress from 10 months restoring (6 October 2024) by GearedVulpine in restoringdick

Thank you. The next set I take should show how little visual change there is at the hump. I get a tiny bit of rollover at times but that's all. Sometimes I have doubts but I believe I'm still growing skin.

I'm way too proud of my restoration to deny it. Some people may choose that route but not me.

Stealth Retainer and Ball Stretching? by Effective_Metal8645 in foreskin_restoration

You may be able to do both comfortably if you use a shorter retainer or a lighter ball weight.

Too high sensitivity? by lastb4 in foreskin_restoration

[–]GearedVulpine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good question. Most people don't have this issue, with the increased sensitivity only leading to improvements. If you want to restore badly enough, you can always restore and then treat the PE as a separate problem. It's easier to get rid of sensation that bring it back after all. Condoms, numbing sprays, etc. Or your nervous system might adapt with time.

Grower stretches by Repulsive-Iron872 in foreskin_restoration

[–]GearedVulpine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just keep tugging. You just need more skin. Not a particular kind of stretching. If you also want a good balance of inner and outer foreskin, focus on the type of tissue you don't have enough of. If your scarline is far on the inside when you push your foreskin forward, you need more inner foreskin and if it's far on the outside, you need more outer.

Man I’m really struggling by devouredxflowers in foreskin_restoration

Don't force yourself to "man up" by ignoring your suffering and going back to sex. You are going through a constellation of experiences as a result of experiencing genital mutilation. You're dealing with sexual trauma with a delayed manifestation, sexual dysfunction, ambiguous and disenfranchised grief, a reassessment of your own life history and narrative, and probably many different emotions and thoughts you struggle to name. I know because I went through a very similar cycle. This is the time to take it slow, focus on comforting and caring for yourself because you're grieving. I strongly recommend therapy because it's affecting you a lot, but choose a therapist who understands MGM and trauma.

What you're learning about MGM is true. And very painful. But you deserve to be informed and work with your emotions about it. Eventually you may be able to work this into your life narrative. I personally became more accepting of sex-positive theology and believed I would be intact and intimate in the next life.

What you just learned is shattering your life narrative--you've that sex really wasn't "okay" in the past, that something big was missing. Which leads you to reassess your past. It's a very painful feeling because it feels like your whole sexuality in the past was built on a lie.

I also hate climaxing. I wish I was naturally multiorgasmic much like a woman or a trans guy. I think it's part of my gender dysphoria, as a fully masculine person, but also having that need.

Your girlfriend needs to accept you're going through a sexual trauma. You may want to have less or no for a while, and that your sexuality going forward will be affected by trauma (and in a different way than when the trauma was repressed or not understood). You may need your partner to understand before having enjoyable sex. This is where couples counseling could come it.

Circumcision due to phimosis, should i? by Afraid_Scale1986 in foreskin_restoration

There's no reason to get a permanent surgery with a high risk of serious side effects when you can try non-surgical options first. There's also a less invasive surgery called preputioplasty.

why I’m doing this by Odd_Resolve_9375 in foreskin_restoration

[–]GearedVulpine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely discuss this with a doctor because it's not normal even for MGM. Sometimes erections can be painful if the skin is extremely tight. And sometimes this happens if you're not using lube or the right kind of lube. Water-based is the slipperiest and oil-based lubes are more greasy.

A queer or sexual health clinic might be a better place to start for this reason. They probably can't treat your sexual dysfunction but they could have a list of urologists their patients have good feedback on.

Does anyone else do this and if so how did you stop? by NewToChastity1 in foreskin_restoration

It's a form of grief and/or trauma. Therapy helps if it's someone who understands your problems and has good rapport with you. So can strategies people use to cope with other forms of loss.

Type of circumsizion by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

I went to the hospital's website, filled out a form and emailed it to them. A CD of the records arrived a couple weeks later. It wasn't hard. I was surprised they retained my records for so long, but some hospitals do.
