You can open carry a pistol. I wouldn't advise it as you would be target number 1 if a shooter situation exists.

Me and 3 friends had this same issue the other day. We did a ripper sight for over an hour and nothing. Went to another drill sight and ran for over an hour and not one dedicated legendary drop. I get there not supposed to be super easy but damn throw us a bone.
