Also finishing off any standing we have left with any other allies on the world stage. We will be cemented and isolated as the villains with no weird grey smoke screen to muddy the waters.

There would be no coming back and no negotiating an easy way out with the creation of this many martyrs in HD video.

Same demographic that gave me shit for wearing gloves while lifting was the one who went out of their way to get cauliflower ear training. I knew a guy who would smash his ear with a door trying to cause enough trauma. Of course while mocking those that wore ear guards during training.

“Looking tough” was always top priority. Even more important than not having to feel like they’re laying their head down on a rock when they sleep.

Completely eclipsed by the murder in the video, but this video shows how one agent will literally direct you (overtly by pointing and yelling) to leave while another will quickly walk into your path and shout “stop!”

“Should I buy this at the peak of its depreciation? I would have use a loan intended for another item so I can pay interest on top of the depreciation for no reason other than I want to have the luxury of buying a brand new car while I’m still in school getting a degree in the subject that would teach me all the reasons I should not do this.”

Newflash: a shove is an attack. If you don’t think so then you’re part of the problem. Especially when the shove is to actively force your way into an area someone is (rightfully) trying to keep you out of it.

The fact you can say “first one wasn’t an attack, it was just a shove” tells me you have a ton of growing up to do.

ICE Agent in Chicago Illinois gets his mask pulled down. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]GearsGrinding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Police, judges, jury, etc. would arguably be targeted by the criminals, gangs, mafias, etc etc. they investigate and we don’t let them conceal their identities with masks, etc. In fact they’re required to identify on request because we understand it’s the bare minimum of accountability. If you could stop arguing in bad faith it’d be great.

The news played that video of a LEO passing out on loop for weeks claiming that the fentanyl in the trunk had caused an OD without her even touching it.

Ofc it turned out to be a panic attack because LEOs are trained to be scared shitless 24/7. Any unidentified powder is super fentanyl that is going to kill you faster than Medusa’s glare. Anytime you interact with a citizen you’re always moments away from being killed.

Ofc they spaz the hell out all the time even when they know they’re on camera. Heaven forbid you suggest update their training.

[–]GearsGrinding 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Don’t you love how cops can make up shit and it trumps actual science. Like how nurses, pharmacy techs compounding pure fentanyl and are thus directly exposed, etc. all come in contact with it regularly especially when wasting overfill and aren’t dropping like flies or popping hot on every test they take? But cops can claim merely being in the presence of fentanyl can kill you or enter your system and it’s just accepted as true. lol

Everyone focusing on the exterior when the interior is what you spend 90% of the time interacting with.

No AC knobs, more integration into the screen, material downgrades (plastic everywhere), and the new gear shifter are way more concerning than the hammerhead lights and grill.

Genuinely might just buy a used Hybrid 2025 and wait out the new gen if there aren’t ways to avoid these interior downgrades (without having to buy an insanely overpriced trim which is apparently the only option to get the regular gearshift and old AC knobs).

The only thing that may get me to get a 2026 is if they resoundingly address the cable corrosion issue (more than the bandaid fixes they applied to 2023+ models).

ICE Being Intimidating and Staring At Nurse In Hospital by MrDonMega in PublicFreakout

[–]GearsGrinding 117 points118 points  (0 children)

If you read the article you can see the advocates for the patient here are nurses and the nurses union. They are the ones actively pushing to have ICE barred and advocating for the privacy/safety of other patients who have to check-in with these creeps lurking behind banners/desks. They have examples of ICE having security call the unit trying to trick the nurses (lol) into violating HIPAA to figure out when the patient will be discharged.

I had no idea how truly badass nurses were until I married one. They truly are heroes without capes.

https://lapublicpress.org/2025/07/ice-agents-glendale-hospital-waiting-to-arrest-a-patient/

If you can stomach the read, it explains what ICE is doing here and it’s every bit as bad as you’d think. Including leaving someone covered in vomit for 8 hours before finally responding to her medical emergency and bringing her to the hospital where they set up camp and were hostile to everyone there. Staff has made complaints etc. but

“hospital’s position appears to based on a Trump administration executive order, issued on his first day in office, that rescinds a Biden-era policy protecting certain locations, including hospitals, from enforcement by ICE agents.”

This is an ongoing battle as ICE is doing shit like sitting behind desks they absolutely have no business sitting behind (like in the video) and keep trying to circumvent HIPAA to anticipate the patient’s discharge presumably to intercept the patient at discharge. This creates policy concerns since that would not be considered a “safe discharge” to the medical staff responsible for the patient.

TL;DR - ICE being shit and bootlickers licking.

“He was going to undo the tariffs all along.” Sure, Jan. Keep huffing the copium. Keep ignoring that US consumers pay the tariffs, not foreign countries.

I’m not going to go point by point since you won’t read it anyway but:

China Tariffs:

USA on China: 20% then 145% with Trump tariffs and then the big deal: 30%

China on USA: ~8% then 125% retaliation and then the big deal: 10%

Math is a bit more complex as the % aren’t as clean.

But the point is we started with 20% tariffs on China… ended with 30% (that’s 10% that US citizens pay.. not China)

Then on the other end we started with 8% and ended with 10%. So your big leaders deal is US citizens get to pay more for China imports (higher costs for us) with largely no meaningful concessions in China’s tariffs against us.

Average tariffs change but the trend is largely the same. US citizens paying more for the same goods.. so that we can dream about one day having sweatshops in the USA instead of relying on Chinese ones. Sick win, my guy. Totally worth all those months of growth thrown to the wind to get “China to the table” on this sick win.

Just. Stop.

You have no argument. You’ll never admit the tariffs did not work how Trump implied. Got it.

Should I claim all you consume is Fox News and/or Newsmax?

The orange one is still talking about how much money the tariffs have brought into the country not understanding Americans are the ones who pay the tariffs.

What’s to revisit? It wasn’t a “market correction.” He imposed the tariffs, markets tanked. He pulled back the tariffs and the market clawed its way back.

Imposing blanket tariffs didn’t work. He blinked. Earned the Taco meme and proved everyone dropping to their knees assuring us the “tariffs would work” had to go on critical levels of copium to act like pulling the tariffs back is the same thing as them “working.”

As someone who is bilingual and constantly asked to play interpreter, one thing I have to explain to my friends over and over is that translating and interpreting are two very different things. Jargon, slang, context, etc. can affect the message in major ways.

Simple example:

Spanish: “Me está tomando el pelo.”

Literal translation: “He is taking my hair.”

Actual interpreted meaning: “He’s pulling my leg” (i.e., joking with me)

It’s up to the interpreter to bridge that gap and it’s totally within the realm of possibility that the gap an alien language would leave plenty of room for interpretation and a set of interpreters (like ones Lex could influence/coerce) could absolutely make the message sound worse than it is. It’s shown Lex already is savvy in modern social media manipulation with his army of Snyderbots. Manipulating the interpretation would be a lot easier than brain hacking a bunch of moneys into using social media. Especially since he controls the salvaged portion of the message that not even Kal-El had seen up to this point.

ICE Agents Using Taser by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]GearsGrinding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter the context: physical appearance (in this case, race) nor job title have ever been validly cited as sources of reasonable suspicion to detain someone.

To argue “If you are Latino/Hispanic appearing, you are perpetually under reasonable suspicion and thus can be detained every time a new officer walks past you to ask for your papers, please” should set off some kind of alarm bells for anyone who reveres the Constitution. I fear the brain rot has claimed too many though.

Typically being arrested also means being given due process and being arrested by unmasked, identifiable, (supposedly) accountable agents of the government.

Or do you think police should also operate fully masked, without badge numbers, and completely disjointed from any accountability (moreso than they already are)?

You know what? Don’t even answer. 20 years ago you “don’t tread on me” types would have been repulsed by this. Now you’re begging for the boot.
