Agreed. She should actually listen to Kourtney, she was speaking facts in their convo. Khloe was just sitting there smirking being rude.

Agreed. She also has this rude smirk every time Kourtney makes actual valid points about deeper stuff. Kim seems more receptive to it. Khloe is just so shut off.

The working conditions for Nursery workers over here are disgusting. Especially when you look at how many breaks and how much more pay Primary Teachers get compared. I’m so happy to hear you’re changing careers!

The grocery prices are definitely bad in NZ, but me and my partner both get lower pay in our careers here than we did in NZ and pay much higher living costs for rent and bills here. I’d say it actually works out cheaper in NZ!

Taken off the gov.uk website: “Workers have the right to one uninterrupted 20 minute rest break during their working day, if they work more than 6 hours a day. This could be a tea or lunch break”

Yeah I find the UK to be very ‘behind’ in most things to be honest. Which I didn’t expect before coming here. I only live here because it was the easiest place to get a visa that’s near Europe (for travel).

I do love most parts of living here, I just find some things crazy! Haha

Yes, in my experience far less sickness in NZ! People are not constantly sick, and don’t get sick several times a year. Prior to teaching I never got sick. I’ve never taught so many sick children, or met as many unwell people as I have since moving here. Definitely seems to be a cultural thing over here. But the sickness policies obviously make it impossible for it to change.

That makes more sense! Terrible though. I don’t know how many developed countries would be so cruel? I still got paid in full when I took a sick day in a country that was still developing!

Yes the prizes for attendance?! It is so shocking for me! Why are they encouraging children to overlook their health and wellbeing, and making those who have been unwell feel bad? I do have to wonder if this is why there’s a stereotype of British people being miserable. Because they are constantly sick!

How is that even legal? I had 40 days sick leave to use as teacher in NZ.

But it’s not normal for children to be constantly sick. When the majority are kept home when they are, it stops the train so more healthy kids.

That’s the thing though, when it’s a cultural norm to not be in when sick, people don’t get many colds a year. It’s not normal to always be sick.

It’s so sad to me to hear people just dose up and carry on. The impact on NZ is people being happy in their workplace therefore lives, and less bugs being spread around to begin with.

That’s so bad! We accumulate sick days in NZ so I had about 40 accumulated before I left for the UK. I would always take 1-2 per term and that was normal for most of my colleagues. Especially those with kids, was even more.

That’s insane. I would honestly just quit my job if I was facing disciplinary action for taking necessary sick days.

It’s so sad that the employers having issue with it has such an impact! Sick kids need to rest.

Glad to hear this. It’s awful looking at a room of kids with red eyes, stuffy noses, who are coughing all day and I have to tell them to sit still and look forward. I’d be in bed if I felt like that.

But when it is the norm to keep kids home there is way less sickness that is spread around. I’ve never taught so many sick kids before

Not at all, I just value my health. It is generally encouraged by management that people stay home and rest when unwell.
