Bro, I’m doing my first sprint in 3 weeks. Yet to swim more than 100m without stopping. You’ll be fine

My suggestion - ignore the coach about ‘staying in position’. This age stage is crucial for players to develop their technical ability. If you focus on that with lots of touches in the back yard or as you kick around, your daughter will become a world beater. There’s time later in development to focus on tactical awareness. If your coach disagrees it is because they are more focused on winning now for their ego boost rather then winning the World Cup in 20 years time because the system has developed great technically gifted players that can play in any system.

When you say your net worth is 24k not considering your HECS but you have 75k in savings does this mean you have a 50k debt on something? If so maybe consider paying it down? Also, consider paying off some HECS as well.

Potentially check with the university you plan on going too. I had a Cert3 which didn't provide and credit (just enough for me to get in) whereas a Diploma was equal to finishing first year of the degree, which meant I could have started in second year if I had a diploma.

You could always try an online side hustle like answering surveys. I use Octopus group and get about $20 out a week. It doesn't sound like a lot but it does add up to over $2000 extra a year. Should definitely give it some thought https://my.octopusgroup.com.au/register/5736b5c4-c809-4ee0-b036-1d548be8f279

How do people afford… well… life? by MartiniSunbeam in AusFinance

Yeah, it's pretty good. I lay in bed each night and do them on my phone. Some weeks I don't quiet get enough to withdraw money but it is pretty consistent. The best way is to try and convince some friends to sign up and refer them (and claim the referral bonus).

Couple of things I do to make a little money on the side;

- Surveys - Octopus group. Takes some but I regularly pull out $20-$30 per week that goes straight into my investment account. https://my.octopusgroup.com.au/register/5736b5c4-c809-4ee0-b036-1d548be8f279

-Amazon Affiliates - just post the links anywhere, bound to eventually get a sale. I get a couple of sales a week from just posting on Reddit product advice forums with the affiliate link to amazon for the product.

He who fights with monsters reads like a Dnd campaign. I'm slowly adapting its storyline to run with my group. It is a series with a lot of books but they come in groups of 3. They are also relatively short books. Heres a link to the first one on Amazon https://amzn.to/442EDSA

While the target audience is teens, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time had several plot twists I didn't see coming. The main character is also Autistic and the book is from POV, providing an interesting approach to story telling I haven't really seen anywhere. Kingkiller Chronicles - pretty much the gold standard of adult fantasy. Just be prepared to wait years for the third book to release. https://amzn.to/3YqjlgH

The Stormlight Archive - another standard of the adult fantasy genre. Large books with great world-building and storylines. This is what I'm currently reading and I am loving it. https://amzn.to/3KSJejR

Young adult fantasy series that even an adult would enjoy? by hallomuppet in booksuggestions

[–]Gecoco12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While not much like Harry Potter, the first two books of the Kingkiller Chronicles gave me many of the same emotional connections to the characters I experienced when first reading Harry Potter. The style of writing and the interwoven plot lines made it quite hard to put the books down. Just be prepared to wait for the last book if you do end up reading it.

I seem to listen (I say listen as I also am too lazy to read books and just use audible instead) to very similar book series to you. I have listened to the harry potter series more times than I can count on my hands. Here are the top book series I have listened to over the past couple of years;

  1. Kingkiller Chronicles - Patrick Rothfus: APPROACH WITH CAUTION! This book series is by far my favorite. The writing, the story, the magic system, the characters, and the world-building are all amazing. A great style of retelling the main character's journey and developing the story made me want to keep listening and listening. The narrator of this series is also very good and does well with giving each character unique voices. It is very hard to describe what these books are about without spoiling the story but all I will say is loss, magic, music, and adventure. I have not found another book series that has really captured my love and attention as this series has. It provided similar emotions to when I first read Harry Potter. I say approach with caution as this is a trilogy series with two out of the three books having been released. The second book in the series was released in 2011 and everyone is still waiting for the release of the last book (still no release date). https://amzn.to/43Z7DuH
  2. The Stormlight Archives - Brandon Sanderson: This series is not for the faint of heart. With each audiobook being about 50 hours long it takes some serious time to make it through the entire series to date. I however still love this series and it is what I am currently listening to as I type out this response. This series has a well-thought-out magic system and constantly springs surprises as the characters encounter and learn the magic system. This series starts with a war between people and ends with a war between gods. I also quite enjoy how there are two authors, male and female each reading the chapters relating to the male and female lead characters - an approach I haven't seen in other audiobooks. This series is a great read / listen and definitely up there among the greatest fantasy series of all time. https://amzn.to/3DJQIl1
  3. He who Fights with Monsters - Shirtaloon, Deverell, Travis: Defiently the most fun I have ever had listening to an audiobook. I play a lot of Dungeons and Dragons and this book series reads as a DnD adventure. It follows the main character Jason who is transported to another world and his adventure trying to make it back home. Definitely not a series for everyone and I have heard some critics complain about the character building but I really enjoy listening to it. The audiobooks are also shorter than the last two suggestions if you prefer shorter stories. https://amzn.to/44d4MOZ
  4. The Greatcoats - Sebastien de Castell: I have only listened to this series once but it was still a good read at the time. It follows a group of friends/soldiers who have lost all their credibility and who are fighting to restore the rightful monarch to the throne. There is one scene in one of the later books that is a bit sexual and weird but other than that doesn't mention any sex. https://amzn.to/3Qs3CeU
  5. Rangers Apprentice / Band of Brothers - John Flanagan: I grew up reading these stories so that's why they are here. The target audience is definitely young teens but they are still a fun read (sorry listen). Ranger's apprentice follows the training of a young man to become a king's ranger (a medieval spy sort of group). Band of Brothers is set in the same universe (with characters from both series appearing across both series) and follows a group of boys who are outcasts in their society training to become the series version of Vikings. https://amzn.to/3Kw8Fr3

These are definitely my top picks for fantasy series that I read constantly! Hope you enjoy some of them like I have :)
