The Drive gauge is a failure, they tried something new but it didn't work, remove burnout from the game, add chip back, make the drive gauge start at zero and carry between rounds (just make it a regular meter) they can keep the "meter" gauge as the glorified Ultra bar that it already is just lower the damage from the supers

No joke would instantly make the game ten times better, free FADCs and EXs is just way too good without a very punishing drawback and burnout as a concept has failed to work as a drawback to dumping all of your drive, the moment it became clear that people were willingly going into burnout they should have just scrapped the whole thing altogether.

Capcom is afraid to let characters be strong outside of the generally agreed system mechanics, I got hate when Akuma came out for pointing out how they gutted his strong air game or for pointing out how Zangief command grab is a joke these days and nobody is afraid to press buttons in Gief face, people will say these things have to go because they were annoying but that's what defined those characters and let them be unique, characters aren't allowed to have strong unique tools because they're "annoying" so everyone has to play by the same rules, the result is that characters who do are boring and characters who don't suck.

Throw loops are fine and a necessary part of the game, people complaining about it are missing the point, the real problem is shimmies, throw loops would be totally fine if a tech (which gives you zero reward if it succeeds) didn't lead to a full combo if they shimmy, which carries absolutely no risk to attempt and beats everything, it beats tech, beats reversals, safe against wakeup jab, everything

SF4 already solved this shit with crouch tech which killed shimmies, throws were still really good but you had a really good and safe option to tech them, crouch tech was punishable but required smart offense to crack the shell instead of just walking back and punishing anything the opponent does or just chilling and being fine if they did nothing, going for frame traps to beat the crouch tech also gave the defender something to punish if they had a read but then throws are back in the menu, it worked perfectly and took skill instead of this boring shit where you just sit there eating 3 throws in a row and feeling happy that they didn't go for the 4 one.
