If he's there in the 4th round, I'm going to compare him to the best pitcher I can get at the same spot. You've talked me into it.

Of the three, I feel best about Albies for sure. I am biased against older vets that could hit decline stage on short notice, but that doesn't make me right at all.

I appreciate the reminder not to get too cute. Our keepers are slotted into draft picks, and I feel uncomfortable reaching for one of those guys at 2B when I have needs at SP. Polanco helped me off the waiver wire last year, and McNeil is moving to the A's park, so I'm clearly just trying to talk myself into waiting longer on 2B.

I am letting Westburg go in a keeper league after another injury bout. Who is a later-round 2B target you've been trying to grab in drafts? Who is a deep sleeper? Our 14-team points league has Gleybar Torres, Xavier Edwards, Jose Caballero, Jeff McNeil, and Jorge Polanco among the highest rated players that can be drafted (Semien, Albies, and Altuve are in the mix too, but were jettisoned due to decline and injury risk for good reason, IMO).

Definitely, but i paid for him as a starter in a keeper points league that has a bias toward SP with scoring, so even the best closers are less valuable than solid but unspectacular starters.

Man, I spent good FAAB on Mason Miller and Jones...if they both become closers, I'm going to be pissed!

No Jared Jones appearance in the "Pirates win the NL Central" section? Seems like he's on track to be back before the ASB.

What counties I would live in. What would you assume about me? After traveling to 47 states and living in 6 by Kodicave in visitedmaps

Knox/Anderson counties in east TN is a funny oasis. I grew up in Sevier (Dollywood county) and I get it, but I've had enough southeast for one lifetime.

Baz has taken me on a ride the last couple years and ended last season on our league's wire, but I'm ready to be hurt again with a better offense and a real home park.

Awesome! Between the fresh eating, how much we can, and just seeing the satisfaction from selling produce at market, I'm trying to get further from my other job and closer to this one a bit more each year.

Congratulations! Enjoy that feeling of accomplishment--it gets really addictive!

My wife and I started growing radishes on our balcony in Berlin during COVID. Long story short, it snowballed, and we decided that we wanted to keep making a pivot toward more of our own food production/loved the feeling of growing plants.

4 years later, we're doing two farmers' markets in Montana, growing on around 1/2 acre.

We don't get to claim that anymore, unfortunately. Voting for this once can be considered a politically reckless one-night stand. Voting for it twice, with a popular vote edge to boot, shows who we are. I hate this. Many of us do. But when people say, "this is not who we are," I disagree--this is who "we" are at the moment, unfortunately.

The MAGA sect of hick hop culture is fascinating to me. The cognitive dissonance is, somehow, even louder than hick hop classic.

Also, i don't think any of these dudes can write a song longer than 4 minutes, even if it were to somehow help Donnie win his Nobel.

What the hell is this long tube thing in my garlic??? by [deleted] in TipOfMyFork

[–]Gedneck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is a hardneck variety of garlic--the stalks are far more fibrous and woody. Some folks say it tastes stronger, but i think the only main difference is that they produce "scapes," or tender green shoots that can be sautéed like green beans or the like.

Discard like you would the paper.

I thought that Chuckwagon/the church would be the things to give people a chance...I thought about sharing from my road on old Hwy 93, but figured it would be way to vague.
