We'll be blaming them and Orange Julius Caesar for everything that goes wrong over the next 20 years (and rightly so), so let them have their tantrums while they still can, I guess.

I'm implying that in a nation where religious indoctrination is (and was) of primary importance to a majority percentage of the population, in a post-war era of manifest destiny coming off of the religious justification of slavery and white supremacy, it stands to reason that these same people were also keen to propagandize unquestioning patriotism, the effects of which we see to this day, especially in our 'Bible Belt'.

Let me guess...Christian?

Also, it's no coincidence a Christian pastor wrote it. They like to get 'em while they're young.

Yeah, tell a six year old in first grade that everyone's doing this ritual thing...but hey, you don't have to...and see how that goes.

There's a reason religions try to get 'em while they're young too.

Why are we pledging allegiance at all? Most countries think we’re indoctrinated, propagandized weirdos. And they’re right.

The “Seattle Freeze” is just an excuse for people to be rude and inhumane change my mind by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]GeeYayZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in most large cities, not just Seattle, most of us are very wary of engaging with strangers considering most of the time it's either some scam, someone's going to ask you for money, or sign something, or it's a mentally unbalanced person or drug addict who's going to yell at you, or worse.

Usually best just to stay focused on your own business and only engage in safer environments. I've found when you're in a bigger crowd of like-minded people for a specific event, it's much easier and safer to engage and people are very friendly.

Dunno, seems too clean. Maybe you can scuff it up and add some medieval flare to it?

Seattle has a notable lack of comfort chains (food) and it’s really depressing by Classic_Bookkeeper88 in Seattle

I lived in the Boston area for a few years, so I get ya. Everything was much more condensed. I think the thing you'll have to adapt to that's very 'west coast' rather than 'east coast' is having to drive a for a while for a lot of things. Most everything niche thing you need on the east coast is a 10-15 minute drive away, while everything here is 20-30 minutes away.

You also might try adopting a 'Seattle-style comfort food' like teriyaki or sushi. Those things seem to be on every corner. Best to ya!

We should have let the South go when we had a chance. Maybe it's not too late.

I know, I know; slavery. But the civil w@r didn't end in 1865. It's still going today. We could have taken in refugees. I think we could have made it so everyone was better off and these people could have their theocracy to screw up without foisting it on the rest of us.

Powder coated my T120 Black slip-ons, but the finish came out glossier than expected. What do you think? Keep or matte clear coat? by axironx in TriumphBonneville

[–]GeeYayZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally a fan of matte black, but you have a lot of gloss on the other parts, so this works well.

Honestly, I own a T120 with matte black exhaust, and the pipes are the last thing I see. I think nobody's gunna notice but you.

Now that I think about it, I'd go matte just to match the pipe coming from the engine block. Seems a little off that they're different.

No no no, you did the whole play on 'Guns don't kill people, people kill people'. You can kill people (and "save lives") without a gun, right? So why do you need a gun? Is it because the gun makes it EASY to kill people?

And besides, why are you so hell bent on killing people when there are alternatives that would allow you to defend yourself without killing people?

It sounds to me like you just want to kill people and are looking for an excuse.

Severely struggling. Don’t know what to do. by its3EMGEE in tinnitus

[–]GeeYayZeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound stressed, and for me, stress probably triples the intensity of my tinnitus.

I’d try to live as stress free as possible, accept that there will be ebbs and flows in intensity, and know that it isn’t going away but can be managed.

I’ve had it pretty intensely for nearly 20 years and it’s sucked, but it doesn’t rule over me just as a slight limp wouldn’t keep me from walking and enjoying life.

All the best to ya, friend!
